"Now Spring restores the balmy heat, now Zephyr's sweet breezes calm the rage of the equinoctial sky." - Catullus
One god of wind blows from the west.
Zephyros was that Greek god’s name.
Of four wind gods – the kindliest!
One god of wind blows from the west,
and his blessed breeze I like the best.
At summer’s solstice, he has fame.
One god of wind blows from the west.
Zephyros was that Greek god’s name.
Dawn’s son, Zephyros, takes his throne
and Zephyr breeze is born in spring.
For blowing westerly it’s known.
Dawn’s son, Zephyros, takes his throne.
Warm rains pour down and seeds get sown.
Such beauty does sweet Zephyr bring!
Dawn’s son, Zephyros, takes his throne
and Zephyr breeze is born in spring.

I hope it gains for me a kiss
or some other kindliest bliss;
for labors done with poetry,
a reward for word chivalry.
Coins not needed for the lines,
that’s not what an old heart pines;
some say there is another reason,
to seek again a magic season.
