One minute he’s by you
Sitting on a chair
The next minute you look
He’s no longer there.
Every door is closed
But he’s not to be found.
That confounded cat has
Slipped through the ground.
You’ll very soon learn
Not to search the place
He’ll return when he wants
Superior look on his face.
I’ve finally come to
A radical conclusion
Cats get a kick from
Causing confusion.
Cats have this gift of
Causing human hypertensions.
By casually slipping through
Between parallel dimensions
Where they sit and observe
Their human’s frustration
Trying to solve an
Impossible situation.
Having caused despair
They suddenly elect
To return to the present
To observe the effect
Of one minute being observed
Sitting quietly on a chair
And the very next instant
No longer being there.
