The Ballad of Ma Possum

THE BALLAD OF MA POSSUM
Roofing like a penthouse floor,
Tis not a haunt but Ma's snore.
A wombatic possum in appearance,
Being nature's pinup is her arrogance.
Her distintictive, brush, bob tail, loss,
reputedly, respected as the boss poss.

Hearing her grunt and fight,
echoing a freaky still night fright.
Oh!, nightlife beware,
if Ma is anywhere.
trees n eyes in the wood
is part of Ma's family hood.

Scratchings at the door,
signals to eat, until no more,
Possum busters have done their best,
But Ma thinks, tis a game and quest.
With her teeth and claws,
makes furnishings with any trapddors.

Characterise, personalise or humanise,
big booted, smudged lipstick and pearl,
smokin cigars, no sweet little girl,
tough and ready to roll,
she aint no possum doll.
A pet possum sage,
outliving the legends of her long age.

Haggard Delusions

Save me your lies, just spare me the time
Beginnings and endings now hard to define
Greying and hazy, the edges have blurred
A hollow abyss but I'll never learn

No places to hide or discard this regret
No matter how dirty I'm willing to get
Haggard delusions of honeymoon bliss
Rasping last breaths through lifeless blue lips

Calloused,controlled, bloodied and bruised
I've a heart and a soul that I'm learning to use
I hate how I wait, standing in line
Parading and flaunting your evil designs

Yet still, you abuse once my senses are dead
I can't feel the beat so i claw at my chest
To check I still function, I'm being, I fight
To de-humanise me will come at a price

Plans

My eyes look through my head and heart,
They are so scared and plead to part,
Though I should see for them,
Lead a life where love will stem,
We'll travel to Falmouth shore,
She'll smash my inner alarm from snore,
Eat butties on the beach,
And let my heart peach,
Drink tea by the sea,
And let my eyes look above the clearest spring skies,
And minutes and moments and silence go by,
Our happiness heard in soft glad sigh,

Bleach blonde war paint on girls days away,
Yours is fair and flowing and as long as this day,
I never felt to feel somebody,
I take today and name it,
To humanise old wasted days,
Dark and numb like the empty church bell ring,
Hyms of hope but no followers to sing,
The street and people and life's unsteady pulse,
Makes our bodies due to convulse,
Makes the the brain so tense,
O future, o it's suspense...

Lay my hands on sweet summer,
Make me happy,
Away for good,
To find happiness and love as all should,
Syphen the bad from my head,
Let the fear peel and shed,
Let my eyes look through her heart, please now instead, instead
