I Don’t Feel Well
[Maybe it's COVID]

"I don’t feel well"
Simple words once grumbled without thought
Met with empathetic nods, meaningless replies
Most often quickly forgotten by those with ears
Be they your words or mine
It makes no difference
No Big Deal
Don't be a wimp
Get better, move on
Merely a passing moment
Credit seasons that roll and pollens that flitter

Until now…

"I don’t feel well"
What if it is COVID?
Corona? H1N1?
AKA the Endless Flu of 2020
Fauci's Pinnacle...
What if I have it?
Or you?
Don’t come too close
I don’t want to die
Or you
You are looking pretty bad
Don’t come too near
Six foot distance or six foot deep
Your choice

"I don’t feel well"
Will it ever just be
Under the weather
A little sniffly
Can it just be
Something in the air
Feeling a bit pukey
No Big Deal
Forgotten before noon

No
Not any more…
This morning, I stand before the mirror
It is still dark outside
I can’t sleep
It could be COVID
Couldn't it?
My eyes are rimmed red
My throat like island sand
It must be…
I can’t say it
"I don’t feel well"

~mystically Sick~

imma microphone killa gorilla, ballistic

you can try to come and get with me but only if your mystic

i work with grand wizards, lyrical lizards

we slithers into your body mind n soul

we puff bowls as we spew coals

hot no ashy words, catcha with a hip-hop curse

i spit one sick verse n you come down with the flu

its like h1n1 lyrical sick son

don't wanna mess with none, ill leave you dead from the barrel of my tongue

Everything Is Gradual

everything is eventual then it's happening --
we're moving in circles at a steady pace

the city got new search-lights pointing at the sky
looking for a miracle in the clouds hanging there
worried about the things they've got to do,
like the war on terror, H1N1, your money and it's true
everyone wishes the rain would break
the high tide, the flooding for god's sake

what are we going to do?

with a predilection for an immediate look
from any third eye cave -
 i am in that tunnel
i am the rave...
rolling down the main streets
rolling down past the ignored miracle you are
rolling down where you can buy everything
from a gun to a slave
what are you supposed to do at the dead-end
of our collective mind

round and round
neutral flowing and changing every lil' bit
suspended precariously like a platter on a hardrive
a hard hard drive
