As the night shades start to settle in,
I sit on my porch and watch as the colors gently blend.
And I am taken back to more pleasant times and happier days,
When life seemed to have more meaning with simpler ways.
And as the darkness finally steals the show,
I look to the heavens and there the stars are all aglow.
And as I marvel on the complexity of all I see,
I think to myself, “oh golly gee.”
How in the world can people not see,
That we had to have a creator, someone much greater than you or me.
The wonders of His handy work, I see it everywhere I look,
From snow covered mountains to a clear babbling brook.
Evolutionism to me means you’re on the wrong track,
Darwinism to me is sinister and black.
But what ever you choose to follow, God does not interfere,
Freedom of choice, which ever direction in life is yours alone to steer.
But common sense tells me to follow the narrow and straight,
For wide is the path that leads to destruction and the same will be your fate.
Well as I rise from my chair, I thank the Lord for this night,
The stars a million or more and the moon so amazingly bright.
