Upon the shores of Alexandria’s gleam,
A Library rose, ambition’s dream,
Where scrolls amassed like autumn leaves,
And scholars spun what mind achieves.
Muse-haunted halls, papyrus gold,
Ptolemaic hands, ambitions bold,
Zenodotus and Eratosthenes,
Measured Homer, measured seas.
Callimachus penned the Pinakes’ art,
Cataloging wisdom, knowledge’s chart.
Hero taught as numbers demand,
While diacritics shaped the poetic land.
Yet history’s tide began its turn,
With exiles forced and scrolls to burn.
Caesar’s fire, a shadow cast,
Yet stubbornly, the Library lasts.
Through Roman years, the dust grew deep,
Support grew thin, the scholars weep.
War and wrath swept ancient halls,
Until silence claimed the marble walls.
Serapeum’s shadow lingered on,
A haven for minds, though nearly gone.
Swept away by decree and strife,
Lost forever, Alexandria’s life.
So knowledge bloomed and knowledge waned,
In Alexandria, wisdom reigned
Until the world forgot its name,
But I'm here to bring back it's fame.

If the world was run by John Conway,
or our young friend, Terrence Tao,
things would run smooth and efficiently,
and this is most provably how -
with the Sieve of Eratosthenes, it could be done.
Boys and girls would have so much fun.
and every boat and sailing ship
would glide upon a Mobius strip,
costing but root negative one.

Prime numbers are my favorite digits
Weird digits no method to date finds-them all
6n+1 is prime, n is non-real number
Primes are like sands on a beach, infinite
Blest threes in math thru religion ,intricate
Prime numbers are my favorite digits
Fives are feet, toes human senses as we see
Pentagrams, and starfish arms so much beauty
Weird digits no method to date finds them all
The Seven Kings of Rome and the seven seas
The Sieve of Eratosthenes method does please
6n+1 is prime, n is non-real number

If the Rubik's Cube was Round
Would the Earth not?
Would the men with knives and pitchforks
After Eratosthenes be proud?
Would voyagers search far and wide
Once more for the famous edge
Only for the fall
If only the Rubik's Cube was Round
