Obstacles to Prayer

Are you certain when praying that God is hearing?
Does God consider mere trifling words endearing?
When just muttering words do you oft feel doubtful?
Poor concentration, God doesn’t see as devoutful.
During prayer, is your mind, inclined to wander?
When we allow this, an opportunity we squander.
God understands that our thinking isn’t myopic,
And forgives when thoughts drift to another topic.
God wants our hearts not flattering words.
