"I could've had Elimelech's land,
If not for Ruth the Moabitess' hand.
Elimelech's land has much potential,
But taking a flawed wife was essential.
With the land, I would come out ahead.
With Ruth, I'd ruin my future instead.
So, I let Boaz redeem both of them.
I'm happy to pass this burden to him."
"I use what's flawed to bring blessing.
Ruth's faith in Me allows possessing,
Promises shunned by 'what's-his-name',
Are eternal blessings only faith can claim.
Myopic faith is not really faith at all!
My promises extend far beyond the eyeball.
Ruth and Boaz became channels of blessing,
The Davidic line keeps on progressing!
Their faith goes beyond the immediate story,
It will echo forever in eternal glory,
But 'what's-his-name' will not be celebrated,
His faithless story is forever truncated."

Branch made the ax head float
Restored to use, so take note
Elisha's branch points to Him
Branch, the metonymic prelim
A limb grew out of Jesse's root
Beginning as a tender shoot
The shepherd boy became a king
An Ideal Savior - his offspring
David's line in disarray
Branch is born Christmas Day
The Davidic promise found in Him
To save His people from their sin
Repulsive to the natural man
Branch fulfills His Father's plan
Peter and Branch walking on the sea
Reveals the metonymic finale
Raised from the dead to return as King
Branch will accomplish everything
Universal and immensely overwhelming
"Yahweh our righteousness" is coming
Look to Branch in faith to restore
Spiritual refinement and so much more
Cleansed from sin and serving Him
We will share His metonym:
"I am the vine, you are the branches..."

When His wind excites the leaves
Light and shadow go dancing
When His wind on water weaves
Light flicks around - tapdancing
His wind dried up the Red Sea
To silence Pharaoh's hot air
Israel crossed over free
Their song - instead of despair
He breathed life into a child
Who danced before Him as king
The Davidic king compiled
Worship songs - for us to sing
His wind-driven chaff is wild
He scatters His enemies
His rebuke returns it - mild
His wind provides remedies
Breathe on me, Holy Spirit
For I must be born again
The singing - I can hear it
I am dancing from within

Has life ever been cheaper,
When doubting God grows steeper?
Love without justice perverts.
Justice sans morals subverts.
Despite the evil scheming,
God's spiritual streaming.
Doubt your doubts about the Lord.
Confessing them brings reward.
His past acts need reflection.
Remembrance foils defection.
His Providence revealing,
God's spiritual streaming.
So, wait for the end of it-
His faithfulness will acquit.
Remember, He's powerful,
Gathering up baskets full,
After thousands done feeding,
God's spiritual streaming.
Let the fools think they have won,
When God has only begun.
The wicked need to think twice,
Boasting about our demise.
Trusting Him is redeeming,
God's spiritual streaming.
When all has been said and done,
The Warrior-God, His Son,
Fulfills the Davidic reign,
And godliness is great gain.
All bow the knee esteeming,
God's spiritual streaming.

Poetry is a mark that slowly fades;
Marks which turn pages from yesterday's shades.
Poetry finds the expression of a lasting imprint;
Ever the Davidic songs share a shimmering glint.
The age of fruit of a pen does tell a maid.
Behind the ink comes a flint.
Without charades.
Words like these are privileged sent.
And words find wells
From the ink to the hearts of swell.
