Best Weddingheart Poems
well, there you go, sweetheart;
i have done it at last -
the unthinkable, the reckless, the bold
and possibly suicidal thing...
i have gritted my teeth and hurled myself out into the
void,
into all those endless miles of frigid soul-sucking vacuum
that stretch, echoing, fatal, between us;
i have broken all taboos, all our silent intense oaths -
i broached the subject of marriage.
oh yes, shudder in your shoes and recoil...
it lies before us in the ether,
that doomladen ritual of wedlock, of entwining souls,
that old ball and chain...i dangle it before you now,
like a baited lure, a mace with shining spikes
ready to be driven into your heart -
or mine
and in so doing, i have committed the bravest rashest act;
i have relinquished all my carefully hoarded power,
risked all, life and heart and soul,
for this kamikaze mission, this fairytale yearning...
i have placed my battered self esteem on the table
a crude bargaining chip,
and raised the stakes to their lofty teetering peak
and in so doing, i offer you my throat to cut,
my veins to slice,
my life to choke from me as you see fit
i have made myself both hunter and hunted,
doomed whichever way i turn -
and all for this;
a closely guarded longing, an image of you and i, a dream...
you in pristine white suit, tousled black hair tumbling over
masculine shoulders, standing at the altar;
that sacrificial place -
and there am i, beside you, shining and radiant,
an angel with luminous smile and turgid crimson heart, bursting
with so much fabulous dreamed-up love i can scarcely stand...
it is a beautiful snapshot, composed of mist and moonbeams,
of my own fervent imaginings
a fool's hope, certainly, but also a tenuous possibility...
and for this, i have risked all,
have danced myself a merry jig all the way to the edge of the grave -
and here i hover, white-lipped, wild-eyed,
in limbo between ecstasy and crippling goddamned despair;
with only one word from you to decide which way i tumble -
to decide how i will live...
or, bitterly,
Die.
white doves and white roses,
white gloves and right poses,
small fingers, big diamonds,
famous singers like beres hammond,
my bride well dress,
my clothes steam pressed,
i kiss her on her cheek,
then watch her tears fall as she speak,
on the mic she speaks loud,
mom in the crowd looking at me proud,
our day is finally its bin a long walk,
she's done her vows its my turn to talk,
so i say" i wear your name on my heart like a crest,
my heart beats for you as if it were your own i must confess,
you've touched me beyond my heart....you touch my soul,
everywhere we go i watch my back because your worth more than gold,
so im told" were a match made in heaven" its written in the sky,
i promise to always love you and never make you cry,
i promise to be honest, faithful and true,
i will never go astray i will only belong to you,
through the good, bad and sick times mental and physical,
i promise to keep the faith and pray an wait for a miracle,
because our love is so strong we will always stay connected,
we have a bond and no man can delfect it,
i know life is not always about a happy endding,
but we have ours because this is or wedding,
now the day is done,
where two have became one,
exit the church doors and enter the white cadilac,
our friend up in front and we in the back,
we both call our boss and then turn off the phone,
thn enjoy ourselves on our honey moon...........
Our Wedding Day
By Rick Rucker
I am standing here, with the preacher,
My Love, in the back of the church, I cannot reach Her,
Now the music begins to play,
On this lovely, Blessed day,
As She walks between the pews,
She is Gorgeous, not any real news,
She has a certain Regal air,
Today, She seems to not have a care,
As She slowly passes by,
Men admire Her, women cry,
My head feels as if there is no blood in it,
Yet, my Heart beats at a mile a minute!
Finally, She stops, and turns,
If she knew how my Heart yearns,
To steal her away, to start our honeymoon,
It would surely make Her swoon!
Somehow, I remain in place,
Staring at her lovely face,
I am afraid that I will not last,
My heart is beating so darn fast!
I want the words to start,
Maybe that will slow my heart,
The preacher asks the question of me now,
And I give my solemn vow,
To always hold this woman dear,
If he knew Her, my answer would be very clear,
Now he asks her the same question,
Without a pause, or its suggestion,
She says “Yes,” to my relief,
I have won the lottery, is my belief!
To have the fairest in the land,
Standing next to me, a gold ring on her hand!
All the rest is just for show,
For I will always know,
That I have won The Prize,
That Winsome Creature, right before my eyes!
Love within a beating heart
Between a man and wife
Pure and simple beauty
As simple and true as life
What else can compare?
What else known to man?
Transcending all boundaries
Wild as the sand
Across the tongues of man
As mysterious as light
A feeling across the earth
Mysterious as flight
How can one heart catch another
Although a world apart?
So silent, so precious still
An ever beating heart
Some love hide away
Some take into the air
Although not one the same
None bleed beyond repair
A girl of beauty
Yet a little cared for name
Only what she offers
Is all the love she gains
Behind her flesh, inside her
A beauty lies in wait
Waiting for a lover
A masterpiece to create
A boy full of life
What else could he need?
The friends, the fun, the glory
Yet internally he bleeds
One heart full of love
No need for romance
One kiss to this frog prince
Love will break him from this trance
A God so full of love
His cup overflows
To his son who drinks it
He offers his heart to show
Trapped behind a man
Became a consecrate
Death was on its way
By his he became the bait
Once trees loose their leaves
Others spring to grow
The old create new life
A never ending flow
Deep as a skyless ocean
Never to erase
It is often spilt with supposed waste
Yet it only is ever misplaced
How can be spent
What has no quantity?
A light cannot be captured
So love will be free
A misconceived notion
A timeless work of art?
One thing remains unchanged
Love is set apart
