Barbara Walters
Never falters.
Interviews celebrities,
Easily putting them at ease.
Barbara Walters
Never wears halters
With her small B cup
She hasn't enough to hold them up
I'm in the house all alone.
(She is no where near alone in this house.)
I hear the ringing of the phone.
(And believe me its not just a mere mouse.)
I answer, but oddly there is no one there.
(Not even a dial tone, will she hear on the line.)
I think this is more than the average scare.
(When this is over, not even her body, they'll find.)
I hang up and turn around, eyes open wide.
(My decaying corpse I shall let her see.)
I realize suddenly I'm trapped inside.
(Tell whomever you want, but no one will believe.)
Even though I'm locked inside, I still try to flee.
(I slam the door, there is no escape here!)
Oh why, oh why won't this ghost let me free?
(Oh how I love the smell of her fear!)
Oh Lord I wish I could take back that night.
(She should never have been drinking.)
When I ran her down in drunken delight.
(What was wrong with her, what was she thinking?)
I got out of the car to see what I had hit.
(I lay on the road a crumpled heap.)
In my stupor I pick her up to take her to a fresh dug pit.
(She throws me carelessly in the back of her Jeep.)
I now see for the wrong I've done I MUST make amend.
(Breathing hard with sweat beading on her forehead.)
I grab my chest as my life suddenly comes to an end.
(Eye for an eye we're even now that she too, is dead.)
For the duos, thanks for John Loving for tapping Sandra Hudson & Sami Al-Khahili, You both
are next!
I forgave them, the anointed flock, rinse them
And wash them, and put them back
To wear your robe, your borrowed diadem
Walk to Golgotha with curse at their back
I forgave them
For they never felt the fire, knew no heat
You covered them
Before they made a prince to walk the street
O could they know black faith coming back, come back
O could they tell the deluge
And see the white robes above it, coming back
Into the brambled tents, the host of refuge
They would forgive
Had they known you, the cross before the throne
They would forgive
Their erring pride in one who walked alone
O Christ, what jealousy consume our faint name
In ignorance cage castling
Curtains of glory from tattered rags of shame
What cattle blind in jostling
I forgave them
For by these words they know again your heart
You forgave them
Long ere they forget or love flew apart
This is the Third in a series that I wrote for my son a few years back. I wrote the first and he asked for more. I think they got a little better with each one, but am also a little biased. Hope you enjoy.....
Remember young Walter and his bungled escape
That wound up with him in a terrible state?
Bruised, but still able to think quite clearly.
Dreaming of another chance, No Really!
Bullfrogs do dream, but usually at night;
And mostly of mealworms, beetles and flies.
But, Walter was different and lived for the day
When opportunity for freedom would come his way.
He thought that his luck was turning for good
When Joey appeared with a boat made of wood.
Carried to bath in the hands of the boy,
Where the sight before him brought him great joy
He wriggled his way to get better peep
At the porcelain pond about ten inches deep.
The vessel was placed in the water first,
Then Walter on top, he thought he would burst!
He dove straight in drink and started to swim.
And felt the cold water envelop him.
He swam it’s full length and then back in turn.
He was gathered back up and eagerly squirmed.
For the water was clear and felt just too good,
To bother being still on that boat like he should.
Joey was called to another room by his Mum.
Now it was time for Walter to have some fun.
So back in the water he quickly returned,
To swim on his own and not be disturbed.
He made several laps before tiredness hit;
He was getting a bit knackered and wanted to sit.
But realized now that there was no way out!
The sides were too steep and he couldn’t shout!
For the words of a bullfrog if to you and me spoke
Would all sound the same… nothing but Croak.
Walter started to panic and swam a bit faster,
But this would lead only to further disaster
He tried to clamber back onto the boat,
But now full of water it would no longer float
Walter’s kicking and thrashing had filled it to brink,
And with all of his splashing it started to sink.
And with it the hopes of one Walter the Frog
Who wished he was safe back under his log.
But then to his rescue came Joey again,
To pull from this peril his little best friend.
Now safely at home in the warmth of his bed
Recalling his day and its fortunate end.
Walter fell asleep and started to dream,
Of things that make little girls scream….
