Defeating the Brutality

Defeating the Brutality

In a civilized world where people,
Even share the grief of their enemies
And write Poems and Songs
When they are in pains and
Are surrounded by sorrowful happenings.

The soldiers of Pakistan army
Have beheaded the Indian soldiers
In disguise and have eloped
In the darkness of cowardice.

What a bravery they have shown
Making a mockery of Geneva Convention
As, such human aspects
Have no meaning for such an army
Which believes in brutal killings only.

My nation is shocked and
The world is bewildered
To see this brutal act of cowardice
But those who have done this
Barbaric act
Are laughing in their dark chambers
As they believe in
Barbaric cruelty and
A denial of such acts
As not accepting a things
Is the best remedy
To befool the world.

Violet Cream

Violet cream.
A light, velvety lavender.
Such was the soft glow
of that particular night’s sky.
Hints of golden orange
blew in the clouds
because of the street lights.
The snow that covered the ground
and the rooftops of the suburb
reflected the celestial magic.

The road,
though surrounded with all this splendor,
was still black,
still motionless,
still hard.
It blackened any light it touched,
and hid any love it felt,
if it felt any love at all.

It’s hard to tell whether or not
she wanted the snow
or if she needed some time to herself,
or whatever roads think.
All I know is that the snow hasn’t touched her,
and a casual observer like myself
would say that the road
just wants to be left alone;
don’t we all?

What is it about snow
that reminds us how heartbroken we are?
The snow slowly conceals
the secrets that tease a terse soul;
the snow wants me to forget;
but I don’t want to forget.

She’s the road,
and the snow is time;
time isn’t hiding her from me.
Everything around her
is blending in the background,
but she is still hard,
still black,
still there.

A black road
Surrounded by violet cream,
and I,
helpless to change it.

My Frozen Fountain of Youth

went to VT for the weekend
had a blast and pet the horses
had nothing to worry for a few

didn't think about work or school time
hoped to come home to write this rhyme
'cause I have something to share..

My fountain of youth
is frozen for for now
its a beautiful site
I really wish you could be there

I hope that tonight
my fountain is alright
the snow has built a sheet
I really wish you could be there - with me

man made
but made so well
so close
you can't tell

--Writer's note--
but forever now I will remember the time I went to my Grandpa's house, as a teenager, and
saw my fountain of youth was frozen with a slight dusting of snow on top. "I really wish
you could be there - with me"
