Best Terminated Poems
A fly flew through the kitchen window, I was frying,
He was big, fat and very black,
He nonchalantly settled on the drying rack,
No doubt had followed the aroma of food, uninvited prying,
With tea towel and fly swatter, was armed and eyeing.
Flew closer to the gas burner, unafraid of dying,
Both of us ready for deadly battle,
He would certainly not live to tattle,
There got you, but as hard as I was trying,
He was edging nearer to the liver I had frying.
Searching with his compound eyes, he found an aperitif filler,
A small onion, his taste-buds now craving,
My anger now increasingly scaling,
Then with the prowess of a tactical serial killer,
Lashed out with the tea towel, wiped out the critter.
when it happens, when they come for you,
they will do so like the mafia,
showing signs of a long friendship or
what they term a family oriented atmosphere---
you’ll be led to a public place if you were
important,
somewhere outside the actual workplace
so that you will not make a scene,
and when your world comes crashing down
you will be unable to show any emotion
whatsoever,
like so many hollywood scenes of firings on the
big screen,
except,
you are not an actor,
and this is not a movie.
if you are lesser than important,
something of a soldier in the common trench,
then you may not even be fired---
you will be “let go,”
and when you are terminated,
those that worked with you won’t even know it until
monday morning,
because they will rid themselves of you on friday just
before the day ends.
on monday,
management will round up all the surviving
wage slaves
and explain to them that you are
“no longer with the company,”
just like they learned in management 101
when they pledged to whore themselves to corporate
in hopes of getting a bigger pile of scraps than you
from the table.
when it happens, they will take as much as they can from you,
any severance pay or vacation time that is supposed to be yours,
will be wrestled to the death & you’ll be denied a
health care cobra,
if you had health care to begin with.
and know that your story is not special,
no matter how bad you think your own circumstance is
regarding your personal termination,
someone out there has been treated worse
and they are in court,
fighting their place of past employment
just to be able to collect unemployment insurance
until they get back on their feet---
your ex-job will do the same if they can---
many have lawyers in their pockets
waiting,
just to do so.
so until the day that it actually happens,
don’t trust anyone,
keep your mouth shut &
watch your back like your life depends on it,
because
it
does---
you’re just another piece of garbage
ready to be dropped into the acid vat---
it’s only a matter of time.
if you aren’t looking for a better job while you are working your current one,
you are asking to be eliminated.
My foot is four legs of a tortoise
My thump is anchor of my docking
My reason is the traffic light of red lights only
My patience is the hand break of a vehicle
Their ‘batakari’ has wings to fly over me
Their worm-length’s shape has assumed e-train’s speed
Their purpose has influenced reason
Their haste has dismantled rightful queues
My hope of getting there is terminated
My hope of timely-fulfilment is turned time-will-tell
My very core of success is just an envisaged hallucination
My comfort of hope is … ‘God will tell when’
Life is not a competitive errand
Life must be fulfilling through struggles
My much efforts draining, I can’t change my aging
They pass through the hasty runways
Through dubious means to by-pass me
To achieve their over-ambitious greed-filled lives
At the expense of the down trodden.
I am not blaming the successful for my plight
But the gate has to be opened to all,
The apian way is an abomination.
Do unto the politicians, the vote winners, the powerful and the privileged
Including their relations, associates and affiliates
As you do unto the civilian, the vote casters, the commoners and the under- deprived.
Formed in the twinkling of an eye,
but doomed, never to see the sky.
Or to run in the grass, and to feel the wind in my face,
nor to be part of the human race.
Never to know a mothers love, or to hold her hand,
never to play on the beach, in the sand.
Unable to feel the rain in my hair,
to skip, and jump, and play without a care.
Never to fall asleep on my fathers lap,
or to be disciplined by his loving slap.
Alas, all of these things are not to be
for I was just flushed down the drain, and out to sea.
The only reason why I was damned,
was because I was never a part of her plan.
Maybe I'm just blind.
For not leaving the past, where it belongs, behind.
Sometimes I think that I'm just out of my mind.
Unknown it is, why I say this things.
No longer feeling satisfied with love and life.
Over with the attitude of procrastination.
My world, it wrote its own constitution.
There's no need for inquisition.
Memories that affect an important decision.
No one can procrastinate against me.
Putting lives at risk, with a stunt like this, so let it be.
Recognition of emotion, a feeling of emptiness.
I feel abandoned, living with a heart that was destructed.
Love, from my life, now deducted.
Over with the sorrow, the strain.
Not knowing if I'm suffering in vain.
Only wishing to terminate, isolate, and eradicate my pain.
