Best Seatime Poems
In youth we shared a breath of time
I cherish yet today.
The plans we made for life ahead
Would soon be underway.
The dreams we shared, those lofty dreams,
Were all within our reach;
As we both planned to sail away
To learn what time could teach.
Then time took on a quickened pace,
It hastened more and more.
Our hopes and dreams became the wings
To lift our hearts and soar.
When they took flight they carried us
Away from all we knew,
And in a fleeting breath of time
I sailed away from you.
I drifted aimless out to sea,
Alone and cast aside,
While everything I’d ever known
Was swallowed by the tide.
I rode the waves, withstood the storms
And cursed the loathsome cost.
I thought I’d wander evermore
Without the love I lost.
Then time allowed another chance
That cold and stormy night,
When I returned to captured scenes
Of whence we first took flight.
To see us there, embraced by time,
In moments fond and dear,
Rekindled embers of the bond
That haunted me each year.
We cannot know the yet to be,
The yesterdays slipped by;
But we can grow in love and hope
And by our faith we’ll fly.
So take my hand and join me now,
Let’s learn what God has willed;
For in this fleeting breath of time
Our dreams can be fulfilled.
There is a reality in mortality
That eats away your soul
As life slowly passes I get the urge
To feel those high seas roll
Taste the salt on my tongue
Just like when I was young
Hear the boatswain call anchor’s aweigh
Set my own pace
With the wind in my face
See the sunrise come over the bay
One more time let me be
On a white dog at sea
Feel the waves crashing on her port side
One more time for a while
On an uncharted isle
Watching the evening tide
Set my sails once more
For that far distant shore
Make love on a secluded beach
One more time may I go
Where the harbor lights glow
Paradise within my reach
Dreams with no vacancy crash amongst
ancient walls.
Slowly and tenderly foaming kisses
through rough coarse sand.
I see a desire in the way you
come and go.
Trapped between time and the forces of the moon.
You sway each time with different melodies.
Your beauty extends far beyond the
limits of my soul.
The moon reflects upon your surface, echoing
past, present, and doom.
Yet you know the fate of her whom.
You have touched the shores through
the vastness of time. Watching
skies fall, walls crumble, life love.
You are only, you are eternal.
The sea.
Sailing across an ocean deep...
those colours so all a'glitter.
I've found time is mine all away...
if I so choose to fritter.
Thus now does tedium seep...
of task so many and long.
'Tis plentiful then this time I fancy...
with which to think in song.
Rime becomes such music so...
puts my mind at ease.
Thus in doing 'tis now I find...
that it's me myself I please.
Oft be such.. time I'll find...
these rimes do run together.
Magic thus now found aloft...
Of birds all of a feather.
