Faith In Monsters

after my mother said good night
she closed the door and turned out the light.
perhaps by chance she didn't know the fright
that awaited me as she closed the door.
as it is this night and every night
i need light more.
to scare away monsters behind my closet door.
what that monster is i have yet to see.
but from movies snd scary stories i guess what it
could be.
Wolfman, Frankinstien, or Vampire all
or Wicked Witch, ghostly ghoul to call.
the undead Zombie scratching the walls.
all i need is a little light, thats all!
i cannot crack the curtans,
i'm afraid of what i'll see.
and in my mind i wonder why, oh why
my mother won't believe me.
when i say that there are monsters
and one day that they will get me?
