Best Sadsound Poems
Every teardrop tells a story
As its running down our cheek
The sound it makes cannot be heard
For its voice is much too weak
Listen to a teardrop fall
But listen with your soul
The silent screams of broken hearts
Is a sound you can't console
Teardrops are a language
That's spoken from the heart
An endless stream of liquid pain
That hurts right from the start
Tears are often misunderstood
As a cleansing of the soul
But they leave scars that go unseen
When the pain begins to flow
Tears are filled with part of us
A part we try to hide
They can come from many places
To show what's hidden inside
Every teardrop tells a story
That most will never hear
For they don't understand the language
That's spoken by a tear
Her friends all departed before her,
No one was left to mourn her passing,
The curse of being somewhat blessed
With a life that is long lasting.
She buried her husband twenty years ago;
Lived in solitude ever since;
Every obituary she read of a friend
Brought tears and made her wince.
Of sound body and sound mind
For a century and more;
Sounds like a gift you might want
But the last twenty years she abhorred.
When at last her body gave out
And released her tormented soul;
No one was left to eulogize her
And make sure her story was told.
The preacher read from the bible
At a service that no one attended;
In a cheap coffin she was lain
And placed in a plot that will go untended.
She had shed tears at many a funeral
For people she dearly loved
But no one is left to cry for her
As she passes to the skies above.
I hope I live to a ripe old age,
But not the oldest of my peers;
I don’t wish to be so alone
In my autumn years.
Curtain opens, enter child and man
Yelling followed by crying is heard
It becomes louder and more prominent
Man raises hand toward child
Child shrinks and cowers in fear
Distant sound of slap is heard
Whimper is heard, sound only an animal would make
Cries of fear and pain from child
Sounds of hate and anger from man
Sky turns dark, night has fallen
Man exits stage left
Child lays in heap center stage
Body is torn, broken, and lifeless
Curtain closes, no applause
The Final Act has ended
The final leaf is falling
Beside the evergreen
Condemned to silent winds
Their winter-full of dreams
And you can almost hear it
The sound of raindrops falling
And I just can't believe it
The stillness that is calling
Like your name off my lips
Like the whimpers of regret
In the quiet of starry eyes
The only ones to watch me fall
Fall from your dreams
Like a sparrow from a tree
Like a heart from a string
And when I just wanted to be real...
And you can almost hear it
The sound of raindrops falling
And I just can't believe it
The stillness that is calling
Like your name off my lips
Like the whimpers of regret
Falling like a last snow
Like a memory of long ago
And you can almost hear it
The sound of raindrops falling
And I just can't believe it
The stillness that is calling
Like your name off my lips
Like the whimpers of regret X2
I hear the sound of a minute hand clock
But see it I do not
This sound it tears it rips my soul
For every tic I pay the toll
Of loss of lucidness in my soul
I hear the sound of this satanic din
I have to find
I need to find
I crave to find
But cannot find
As I search
I hunt
I probe
And I scour
My lack of sanity grows by the hour
Minutes days months how long has it been
Long ago madness set in
Screams for help fall on deaf ears
From days well spent laughing in tears
No one to help no one at all
So a ten more year search in my room of padded wall
It echoes in the darkness
A silent sound that's heard
It's pain cries out in agony
Without ever speaking a word
This sound is too familiar
It's known by one and all
Nothing can keep it silent
It's perfect without a flaw
The effect it has is lasting
For all of those who hear
It can even be contagious
If someone is standing near
It's sound can even be blinding
As it brings us all to tears
For some it lasts for a couple of days
While others it can last for years
No one can ever escape it
It's destined right from the start
At least once in our life, everyone will hear
The sound of a broken heart
