Can you hear it?
can you hear them?
the screams of pain echoing 
across cold grains of sand 
the moon enveloped in a haze 
of smoke and dust 
kicked up by the army 
ants, treading through the maze 
of villages 
fear the new language 
fear the new mind-set 
tensions high 
love low
can you hear it?
through all the blood and 
the weeping of mothers 
there might actually be the 
sounds of a sweet bird 
singing a song of hope an love 
amongst the rubble and decay 
the song of hope may be
heard again. or will it....
