Poorman's Poem

I came to be in a land
Where money is a demand.
To the poor it is hard to come by;
Yet the rich has an endless supply.

The government says not to worry,
But the future looked blurry.
Our hopes are now lost
Coz our future has a cost.

What do a poor like me do?
I wish what they say is true;
That they are doing what they should
And hope that they would do good.

Everyday is but a struggle,
Most of us live in the jungle,
Where money and guns make man a god.
They make those beneath do nothing but nod.

Because we are nothing but poor
We have no right to a life of grandeur.
A life which the rich has enjoyed
And left some politicians' honor destroyed.

The gods that they all bow upon
In the gates of heaven will all be gone.
In there, true justice will be served
And their punishment will be well deserved.

I Tell a Tale of One

I tell a tale of one
Oh what a brave soldier
In thrall all she saw was hope
Struggling for the wings to fly
while bonded with chains of pains
the world very calm for her
seeing what the future would be
she waited while depressed
What madness beheld her?
Why wouldn’t she take defeat?

I tell a tale of one
Oh victorious and strong
Crashing the foe with steel
Conquering with great ardor
She built her own people
With no enemies to feed on
Filled with joy they lived more
For the end to bondage has come
Who knew what would happen?
What would the future become?

I tell a tale of one
land now noble and free
Our wings are spread in jubilation
Fifty years ago you soared and flew
Fifty years today we rise in riches
Your children now everywhere
Singing to your golden jubilee
Dancing to the drums of success
Laughing to the healthy rhythm
Oh Nigeria at fifty.

I tell a tale of one
A shore that is full of soil
Beaming like the sun in dawn
Fifty years ago planted a seed
Fifty years today reaping it all
with peaceful practice of love
together we stand as one
happy and fit everywhere
So our land be wealthy
Oh Nigeria at fifty.

Sams World

We live in one world,
which together we must help build.
A future not just for us,
but for future hands,
to sculpt better plans.

This world seems to turn so fast,
sending our future towards the past.
Every dream and thought can never last,
the fate of us all is already cast.

The future, its not real,
just a word we say but never feel.
Peel back the layers and you will find,
together as one, our love,
will heal.

When will our words be heard,
all this pain is absurd.
Hate has made our minds tainted and blurred,
If we unite these people can be dettered.

Break down the wall,
Politics will fall.
They forget we put them there,
to be the voice of many.
But thus far they haven't helped any.

Big Goverment

Big Goverment

When you’re pushed, you must push back,
When the noose loosens, pull tight the slack.
When you fail, get right back up,
When you’re thirsty, fill your cup.
Be a bully with what you own,
Don’t stand for how governments grown.
Protect your country from sinful debt,
Your children’s future is not a bet.
A drowning race we’ve become,
Forgetting the morales we started from.
~
Which side of the fence will you choose to stand?
For or against governments heavy hand.
It’s not too late to start a new,
If we believe in the things we know are true.
Words without action, the cause is dead,
Like an ostrich with a buried head.
Get up, wake up, and take a stand,
Our children’s future is in our hands.
