Best Permute Poems
Everything I do not know,
I seek answers,
I search the books,
I beam my searchlight.
Everything I do not know,
I throw in the net,
I permute the set,
I take away the lid.
Everything I do not know,
I look inwards,
I journey away from the outwards,
I uncover the sheets.
Everything I do not know,
I do not run from,
I find a way through,
Search out blue skies in the gloom.
Everything I do not know,
This door I strive to unlock,
It’s recalcitrant pall I'll fight,
As I anticipate true light.

about 25k of DNA
that's all we got
for expressions to say
but more than a lot
adenine and cytosine,
long to interlace,
guanine and thymine
to make a living base
all stewed in nucleotides
helixed turns so linked
is what makes life's ride
to all organisms distinct
finned salmon fishes
grizzlies and finches
appointed life's wishes
for nature, it's a cinch
too, flies and butterflies
anaconda's and darter snails
life's supplies in disguise
diversity of crittered tales
it's puzzling to piece
just how life can do it
with near-infinite increase
of its proteined tool kit
switched on proteins
morph winged extremities
to myriad of in-betweens
and other of life's remedies
go for it, life says
make a smash, make a mistake
live it to the hilt
all ways alive, for life's sake

If only I could go back in time,
I'd go back to my prime years,
I'd correct my wrongs,
I'd wipe the slate clean.
If only I could journey into my mind,
I'd permute my thoughts,
I'd sieve out the unwanted,
I'd cocoon my thoughts from the assailants.
If only I could see the unwritten,
I'd know how far it's fated for me to walk,
I'd know the reasons for my walk through turbulent waters,
I'd know how many steps would take me to redemption's shore.
If only I could open the door to midnight,
I'd see the monsters,
I'd give them the chase,
Illuminate midnight's space.

Home is where I'd love to be,
Home is where I'd love to stay,
Within its walls, I'll permute my day,
Home is a tranquil sea.
Home is where I'll embrace happiness,
After the day's quest,
Home is an aura of loveliness,
I'll walk through its door and have a good rest.
A home is a place of laughter,
Cherished moments spent together,
Gloom dispersed for the better,
The mind glides like a feather.
It's always good to be home,
Back from our sojourn and roam,
Divulge all our worries,
Tell the sad stories.
Home is a family united as one,
Listening to each other with empathy,
Joy rising in their hearts like the sun,
Their chambers filled with melody.

Acrostically speaking there is some confusion
Clear origin demands end of row execution
Rewritten meaning now calls for beginning
Of line emphasis for poetic underpinning
Start at the outset with succinct letter in mind
Then make form and message intertwined
In letters we trust because they begin and they end
Close disciples they are and all writers’ friend
At the heart of the matter lies imagination
Left aligned creations and no punctuation
Loo role lullaby and limestone are easy
Yankee however tends to make me quite queasy
In ‘the good old days’ the artist had a thesaurus
Supplanted by google because minds became porous
Titrating trivial knowledge is no inconsequential pursuit
As rules and strict order demand for the gems to permute
Never say never when you compose an acrostic
Deference to dogma is not for a truthful agnostic
To acrostic or not ‘that is here the question’
A liking for puzzles helps with harmonic progression
Let us be clear some poems are pure nonsensical tosh
Lo and behold though even loo roles can be rather posh

Origin of the word Acrostic comes from Greek akrostikhis
From acron (end) and stikhos (row or line of verse)

How many can we count?
How many would we permute?
From our cradle to our departure,
From our infancy to our retiring days.
They're ubiquitous,
Hidden in secret places,
Cloaked in our chambers,
Those of the gone days,
Those of the departed.
Some are immortalized,
Archived for the unborn,
Some are recalcitrant to leave the stage,
They're hologramed in the mind,
Some are like the sun,
They rise after a sinking spell.
They are patterned on the sands of time,
Some are covered by the wind and clime,
Dawn heralds our footprints,
It calls us back from our dream state.

I dream to wake up in a new world,
A world that is balanced and healthy,
A world where love, peace and togetherness thrive,
A world where war is not a resolution to disputes.
A world where no one is indigent.
My dream is,
To have my thoughts on a slate before me,
To be able to shut the door to the deluge of my mind,
To be able to permute my thoughts in a serene flow,
To have my sky clear from sombre clouds.
My dream is to wake up in a sculptor's world,
Where defects are easily chiselled out,
My dream is to have the world on a canvas,
Painted with colours of laughter, joy and hope,
Bringing daylight into the midnight train.
My dream is to always yield to the Potter,
To have Him mould me to His choice vessel,
My dream is to wake up in a different world,
A world adorned in its pristine beauty,
A world unsullied by the innovations of time.

An abode for everything,
A home made in us,
A place where we permute and select,
There we create and assemble.
A place in the deep,
There we sow and reap,
There the tools are laid down,
Our hands make their choices.
A place where dawn chauffeurs its elements,
We're caught in different moments,
The unseen takes its shelter,
Gloom and bloom desire a room.
A place where roses are grown,
Shrivelled by the scorching sun,
The garden is a shadow of itself,
Anticipating an awakening.

I believe there’s a Being that dotes on His. creatures,
I believe that He holds the key to hidden treasures,
I believe He knows when we walk through midnight,
I believe He sees with perfect light.
I believe He comprehends the tempest in our chambers,
Though they permute in soaring numbers,
I believe He notices each door dawn brings to us,
And sees every loss.
I believe He remembers we’re feeble,
Even though we don’t come humble,
I believe He listens to our heart cries,
And knows the outcomes of life's dice.
I believe we're not on a lone flight,
He partners with us whatsoever the height,
I believe He knows why life is a battlefield,
For He bears the day's shield.
I believe He can aid us to unravel deep mysteries,
And uncover unknown histories,
I believe He sees through the dark,
Even though it hides the sought-after mark.

Voices from deep within,
Voices from my recesses,
Two worlds in my chambers,
War within my members.
There’s an interference of thoughts,
They also see-saw,
I strive to permute them,
I stand amid crashing waves.
Oh! The billows within me,
My belief is tried in a fiery furnace,
I'm caught in a web of complexities,
I’m shaken vehemently to the foundation.
I know who I believe,
I know to whom I pledge my allegiance,
My hands hold firmly to my shield,
To ward off encroaching assailants.

Away from the noise,
Away from the city monsters,
Away from distractions.
Away from prying eyes.
Out of misplaced priorities,
Out of complacency's tentacles,
Out of troubled waters,
Out of webbed desires.
A time to exhale,
A time to dissipate the fog,
A time to rejuvenate,
A time to soul search.
A place to commune with nature,
A place to see me,
A place to glide through the tempest,
A place to channel all to the focal point,
A place to permute my thoughts.

"recently scenes of early life have stolen into my mind like breezes blown..."
- Samuel Taylor Coleridge (from his writings)
A door through gone days,
A road to the scripted past,
Shows and takes its course,
Memories permute like cards,
They come in varied series.

The best blessing,
Is to be able to permute my thoughts amidst turbulence,
Is to be able to coordinate my mind through the dawn and dusk of shuffling thoughts,
Is to be able to own my mind despite its riot running,
Is to be able to salvage my mind from murky waters,
Is to be able to anchor my desires on the Divine One,
Is to be able to appreciate Nature’s colours and designs,
Is to be able to walk through my obstinate midnight,
Is to be able to see beyond my mind's cloudiness,
Is to have room for others in my disoriented chamber,
Is to still have me in one piece despite the fault lines,
Is to be able to run life's race despite the unanswered questions,
Is to be able to script these lines for a new home I have found.

The ocean provides,
Calm and serene flow,
Piece by piece my thoughts
Come in a sequence,
They permute themselves.
Cloudless night sky,
A show of stars,
The moon heralds
A new era.
A halo,
Surrounds me,
I'm awake.
In bed,
A dream.
Lights.

Diminished Hexaverse
I'll gather my fears into a box,
I'll face my monsters,
I'll script my day
even though dawn has gone ahead.
I'll tunnel my fears to the bottomless depth,
I'll walk out of melancholy’s room,
I’ll let light in through its window
brightening its portraits.
I'll take off anxiety's attire,
Disperse its odious trail,
I'll fuel my passion,
I'll find harmony in each day.
I'll come out of the shadows of gloom,
I'll propel my internal mechanism,
Go past shrivelled meadow,
I'll permute my thoughts in the tranquil night.
