Etched In Stone

I visited a graveside this very day,
The name I saw made me turn away.
There it was etched in marble stone,
A sight that chilled me to my bone.

It was my name inscribed upon that stone,
And I heard myself let out a silent groan.
This cannot be for I am here,
What has happened I feel so *****?

But I have a peace I’ve never known,
While trying to refocus on that stone.
Then I wonder could this be a dream,
But wait there is a light a dazzling beam.

Then I feel myself being drawn rapidly away,
Into the light, but the feeling was that all was okay.
And there I see things I’ve never seen,
A city of gold yet simple and serene.

The sound of laughter and the feeling of love is everywhere,
And then I see the essence of the light standing there.
It is my Savior in all His glory,
And this is where I say goodbye and end my story.

Black Angels search
As the world turns to grey
In soulless march
For their soulful prey

They congregate from places
Never heard of in many years
To wallow in their carnage
Spreading their demonic fears

Spirited from the underworld
The blackened depths of Hades
Diminishing the light above
Leaving earth in deathly shade

Skeletal marching soldiers
Empty of life and soul
Desperate to spread their black
As the brightness takes the toll

The worlds in need of saviour
A light to shine through soon
No longer can we rely
On our sun, or our moon

A journey must be made
To free us from this plight
A White Angel to be found
To turn this wrong to right

To Serbia heroes travel
Mileseva Monastery reached
As they stand in front of a fresco
An Angel beside Christ's feet

The mentioning of these words
Myrrh-bearers on Christs grave
The fresco starts to glow
Is this the light that saves

For the heroes standing there
Their bodies absorb the light
For in their hearts they know
They are the savours of our plight

Messengers now on their travel
Different journey's they partake
Don't fear the Reaper
For his light will re-awake

Stain of a Dream

You know that moment in the morning,
Just before the light hits your eyes,
That one innocently ignorant instant,
Before all of your worries have time to actualize.

In those few warm, soporific seconds,
When your mind is still clouded with dreams,
You feel absolutely invincible.
Like a rock, you could handle all extremes.

All you want is to cling to your dreams,
Because in them everything went just right.
You want to go back to when your imagination was a bird,
And it was finally free to take full flight.

Stories and wishes that your mind concocted,
Petty lies that you unconsciously spun,
Reflections of what you desperately want.
In your dreams it can all be done.

But alas, the Man in the Moon always has to set,
And the sun as well must rise.
But for the rest of your day you can remember,
That one short moment before the light found your eyes.

Cracks of Light

Meetings, greetings; coming, going
Ever changing, never showing
Shattered glass changes view
Cracks in light alter you
Pulling, changing ocean tide
Upon the bough I take a ride
Deepening waves alter sight
Dancing light turns to night
Moon give and take away
Reducing night, bringing day
My fish’s eye, all is bleak
Hints of life have their leak
Chasing butterflies by day
Impressions cast pave my way
Dying sun, dying soul
As the earth my mind grows cold
Catching all yet holding none
Show me I have just begun
Lost from good ‘ol days
Silence grows, I make my way
Quiet walks heal a mind
In remain it will bind
In my wake, not a soul
With each thump another hole
Another night, another blue
Not to stop ‘till I reach you
No equation set to worth
What equates truth unearthed?
Sent to save a broken heart
Worth a rescue from the start
Called by one good and strong
Listen for its beating song
A prisoner caught in war
Wounded and sore
Hold on dear heart
You are set apart
