Etched In Stone
I visited a graveside this very day,
The name I saw made me turn away.
There it was etched in marble stone,
A sight that chilled me to my bone.
It was my name inscribed upon that stone,
And I heard myself let out a silent groan.
This cannot be for I am here,
What has happened I feel so *****?
But I have a peace I’ve never known,
While trying to refocus on that stone.
Then I wonder could this be a dream,
But wait there is a light a dazzling beam.
Then I feel myself being drawn rapidly away,
Into the light, but the feeling was that all was okay.
And there I see things I’ve never seen,
A city of gold yet simple and serene.
The sound of laughter and the feeling of love is everywhere,
And then I see the essence of the light standing there.
It is my Savior in all His glory,
And this is where I say goodbye and end my story.
