Southern Cooking

The South is best known for their Southern cooking, including some collard greens. All
Southern foods have been around since Abe Lincoln ended slavery for good and when
African-Americans have earned the right to vote. What's so great about southern cooking is
that everybody's eating a home-cooked meal, just like their moms used to make. There's lot
of Southern foods we all love: there's fried and barbecue chicken, some collard greens,
mac and cheese, candied yams, some corn bread, the works. When everybody's eating the food
from the South, it's like eating at a Southern buffet restaurant in Mobile, Alabama, on a
Sunday afternoon, and upon leaving church. And along with their food, they've got some
homemade lemonade, sweet iced tea, and other Southern drinks. Their food is going to wish
that these people would stay in the South for a long, long time. Come to think of it,
Southern cooking is as good as soul food that is made in the city of Atlanta, Georgia,
especially when they're eating some chicken and waffles, some chicken fried steak, and
shrimp and grits. Now how delicious is that? And everyone will be talking about the food
they've eaten and recommend their favorite Southern restaurants to their friends and
family members, even on holiday. Boy, are we going to have a Southern fest with our
favorite foods from the South, including some crawfish, some barbecue ribs, hot water corn
bread, every piece of food everyone can think of. And after this Southern fest is done at
the end of the day, we'll be wanting some more of that Southern cooking.

Ode To the Parks Mall In Arlington

There's a lot of things to shop for at the Parks Mall. There's a Barnes & Noble, clothing
stores like Macy's and an ice rink. Everybody can do some shopping if they have money or
do some window shopping. If anyone wants to go see a movie, there's a movie theater and
the board has new movies on it. What's so great about going to the Parks Mall in Arlington
is meeting new people, especially when he or she is looking for love. The only place to
eat if he or she's hungry is at the food court called the Park Side Food Court. The food
court has a pair of Chinese food vendors, an Italian food joint, and a Starbucks. How
interesting is that? If anyone wants to buy music and/or clothes, there's a Hot Topic
store at the Parks Mall. The other greatest thing about the Parks Mall in Arlington,
Texas, is when the kids are playing hockey. I know the Parks Mall very well. I've known
this place since 2000. And if the Parks Mall were to stay in Arlington, Texas, for a long
time, there's no telling what great might happen next.

Poets Who Are We - Why Do We Write

Is it our sub conscious seeking recognition?
Is it our search for fortune and fame?
Or is it that we enjoy the word game?

For every question there is an answer
And for every answer there is a question.
Who are we that we love to write?

So many reasons and excuses that we use.
Are we going thru this. Or feeling that,
or heard or read something that inspired us.

I have come to my own conclusion
As to what a poet is.
A poet is the dictionary, the encyclopedia of life.
Our poems give words - LIFE, DEFINITION
MEANING, FEELINGS, AND EXPLANATIONS.

Words to us is like food to the stomach
It is taken in , absorbed and then let out
For new food to enter.

For what ever reason that we write
We can or can not touch peoples
Hearts and minds, and we feel a peace sublime.

We become the voices of the voiceless
Who are afraid or too shy to speak.
We become the mothers, father, sisters, and brothers
The lovers, the homeless, and the abused.
But we do not mind being used.

New poets join us every day
From every country in the world
I’m proud to say.
