Remember Me

Remember Me

Cold wet coastal today
I escaped
Sat myself behind a sanctuary
The rain beating rhythms
On window panes
Hot coffee and brandy
Warm inside The Athena Café

Radio spends its missed tuning
Hissing tinny tunes
Love songs
Of losing
Love songs of having
Love sings
Of wanting

Blank the grey sky
Flattering dreaming thoughts meander
On emotions wandering
Focus themselves
With photographic memories

I see
The smile
White satin dressed
Curls of auburn red
All I fell for
All I lived for
My Princess

Her crown tilted
The mischievous angels
Of her

I sigh

As my fingers remember
They once ran themselves
Through your hair
As my lips in accord
Re-taste the peach
Of kisses
I once knew
Sometime so long ago

I can hear your voice
Silent echo
A touch in my soul
Sentient it is
Hieroglyphic speaks
Reverberating something
Deep and known

My eyes replay moments
Of vague tactile loving
These trespasses
And these memories wishing
Batter at some-where’s
Deeping
Inside of me

Aching
Longing

Word forms swirl
In printed pages of you
And send messages of distance
So far from me
So far
From you

To a horizon which is
Part of me
Out into grey meridians
My heart travels
While my seconds record
The splitter and splatter
Of rain on the window pane
Looking back at me
With your reflection

Another cigarette
My coffee cold
And nothing but froth
The heat of my brandy
Matches the twists of floating smoke
Sends my thoughts out riding point
To the cavalry of clouds
With the banner of love

Rides wing-ed horses
With fire on their hooves
Lifts all this nescient knowing
Rushes headlong
To you

Tiny rippled pools
Drop on the sheen
Dark colours anew
Of rain fall continues
One more coffee
No more brandy
Time to leave slowly
And some how find an end
For this poetry

Find a way to Morse code my heart
Out into expansive skies
And wrap my arms
Around you

I remember the home
Of holding you

The rain has stopped

Soulless Windows

Soulless Windows

On the rain wet pavement I stand
The cold memory chills my heart
In the third floor window no glass
Just soulless boarded grey eyes
No laughter reverberate the walls
or children’s chatter to lighten air
disturbing unknown neighbours
The scent of your love lingers on
interwoven with cloying sad decay
Walls remain but you are long gone
to a new life somewhere far away
not reachable to my inner self
That you are lost makes me bitter
but I understand why you had to go
Why did you not take my memories
that force me unbidden to return
to this cold rain splattered street
You are still in our empty apartment

The Moon Is Ours

As the rain gently falls and the world grows dark,
I am engulfed with memories that shelter my heart.
Memories so real, their pain so true,
I close my eyes and I am there with you.

The way that we laughed, the life that we shared,
when the scent of forever filled the air.
With hearts on our sleeves, to each other we held,
there was nothing more sacred than the way we felt.

Each kiss, each touch left a yearning desire,
in your eyes, there raged an endless fire.
A fire that burned solely for us,
a lifetime together still wasn't enough.

With head held low in trembling hands,
the lightning reveals the shell of a man.
Regrets like a fog, they cloud my mind,
I would die for the chances that have been left behind.

Behind on a path littered with lies,
as the thunder explodes, I look to the sky.
A sky filled with darkness, turmoil and grief,
the rain hides the tears that fall from my cheeks.

If only I would have listened and simply took heed,
I would not be here now haunted with need.
I would be there with you, the way we had planned,
instead of alone with my heart in my hands.

Heart in my hands and tears in my eyes,
to the heavens, I plead and utter a cry.
A cry for forgiveness that somehow you will hear,
never before had I held someone so dear.

That for life and always, no ,matter how far,
I will remember forever that the moon is ours.

Premium Member Washed Away Hillslope

Here on a washed away hillslope
Water brought an acorn to grope
A little clay of Georgia red
Put down a tap root and make its bed
Took years to grow in this poor soil'
But it sustained on water___toil

Soil gave what nourishment she could
But help from rain that understood
Stony soil and hard rocks below
Was hurtful when Oak tried to grow
The soil strained to give very best
Oak was draining the soul of rest

This meager soil will starve the Oak
No! This Mighty Oak only grows

Had that acorn fallen on boulder
Would have sent strong root __grown taller

This Oak became a Kingly Tree
Soil is glad to have been drained free___
Of nourishment that nurtured it
Now the rain and sun supplies pith
For soil to be greatly replenished
So Oak but prospers___soil finished

(Idea came after reading Edna St. Vincent Millay..)

I'M To Leave Now

By: Ali Taha Alnobani

I'm to leave now
A tall ghost is carrying my bag
A long street is walking behind me
A mad merchant bought my smiles
And no water to renew the dusk
I can't have my step begun
Even if the rain washed my tears
***
I'm to leave now
Can I have a deep look at your eyes?
Can I take my dreams, your smile
And my dried red rose?
Can I keep your image in my mind?
***
I'm to leave now
The hungry clouds and the angry trees
Scanned my face with a magic brush
To find the sleepy nice angel
But the narrow path through the forest
Had had fun alone
***
When I walk away
I'll pray to god for you to be happy
I'll collect wild flowers
And hold them around your picture
I will watch the river
May be a bit of his sails
Bring me your compassionate voice
***
It is not necessary to be together
If gardens want to paint your picture alone
If clouds like to rain for you alone
But forgive me
Beads of rain could be mixed with my tears
***

It is not necessary to be together
If the day needs something
And the night needs an other
If a baby comes to have life
And does not find a mother
***
 Do you remember
When I told you the story of crazy traveler
Who made a sail of his sweetheart dress
And a prayer of her words
And sang in all languages of the world
Then gods blessed him
That was the prophecy
I've seen in your eyes
***
It is not necessary to be together
I can see you wherever I go
I can hear your voice in the storm
And in the calm evening
***

For the Soul's Good

What a difference the sun makes.
All the flowers begin to show
And the meadows we pass
Are full of lush green grass
While all the earth takes on a warm glow.
Yet we know rain is also needed
Or the meadows will be parched and dry.
And all the flowers that bloom
With their own sweet perfume
Will slowly wither and die.

So it is with the seed that is planted
Deep within the heart of us all.
Though it is tended by LOVE
Through God's grace above
He allows some rain to fall.
For it is tears that nurture compassion.
Tenderness can come out of pain.
For all the struggles we bear
Are to teach us to care.
They're all part of life's pure refrain.

The earth is nourished by sunshine
Yet the rain replenishes too.
For the earth to succeed
It is both that she'll need
So nature provides her due.

In our lives we want joy and laughter
Yet sorrow too must play its part.
So each soul receives its measure
Of pain and pleasure
So love can blossom in the garden of the heart.

Interwoven Thoughts

Under the rainy sky
I walk with watery eye
I wet my self in tears
The only one I cry
My heart is something
Different now
Urging me to fly
Manipulating my
Brains
For the feelings that I write
Into the rain I smile now
The rain, to me, the wind brought
As I walk the lonely, rain filled road
As I’m trying to wear off and write a word
About the inter woven thoughts

Learn To Say Goodbye

The sidewalk crumbles beneath the weight of digging hands
Hands that are trying to find a meaning in something that has no such
And in the mist we can only see what we want to see because we are only ourselves
If only things could be a certain way; the way that is always pictured
Sad to say that the picture is not framed, but withered and torn at the corners
And sometimes, it’s only best to say goodbye and throw it away

Although it is not wanted, it will always be because life is disordered and hypocritical
No one helps with the fight, but only the distress and rage
It only takes so much to look inside and find what you have forgotten about
All one need’s is the courage and power
Not time
Not desperation
Not reason
Can you hear it? If only life were as simple as the sound of rain
No worries
No fear
No loneliness
Can you hear it?
Listen
Listen to the rain
To life

But the rain always brings out the worms, when the rain is gone
They shrivel up and dry out
Maybe they can’t find their way back to the dirt
Or perhaps they would like to end it too
And the wind sweeps me off my feet, just the way you wish you could do
But you sweep nothing but the dirt off the floor
In the end we were still alone
Still left to cry unheard by anyone
We were still left
Still alone
Sometimes you have to understand why others say goodbye

No one shows up to the movie of our lives
Only because the marquee misspelled our names
Our faces go unnoticed, unfamiliar
Even to the mirror
Yet we still play the film
Where I want to be the damsel in distress
And you the hero, with the happy ending
But we have to remember…it is only fiction
My dear, prepare to sink
So don’t hold your breath for long
Because we’ve been going down all this time
Don’t look so surprised
It was only to be expected that this time would come
Sweetheart, it’s time for me to go
This is a good time for you to learn how to say goodbye
And keep it in mind

Can You Feel Me When I Think About You

Can You Feel Me
When I Think About You

With Every Breath I Take

... Every Minute
No Matter What I Do

My World Is An Empty Place

Like I've Been Wonderin The Desert
For A Thousand Days

Don't Know If It's A Mirage
But I Always See Your Face

I'm Missing You So Much

Can't Help It, I'm In Love

A Day Without You Is Like A Year Without Rain

I Need You By My Side

Don't Know How I'll Survive

A Day Without You Is Like A Year Without Rain

When the Rain Falls

when the blue sky turns to gray
when the sun shine runs away
when the sky seems to be coming to the ground
just remember that ill be around

to hold you in the storm
to hold you forever more
to keep you close to me
to dance with you in the rain

as the little drops pick up the beat
and the rain starts to hit our feet
i hold you close to me again
then look you in the eyes
only to say

i love you girl
you are my world
you light the sky
your just so intoxicating

the rain becomes a storm
i take you out to show you more
this poring rain wont stop me now
ill take you there somehow

ill kiss you in the pouring rain
your so beautiful ill feel no pain
just remember this poem
when the rain falls

Raindrops and Tearfalls

The cool mists
	of morning
became the warm rains
	of evening.

As I walk and ride
	through raindrops
I pray for and miss you
	and tears begin to fall.

I wonder what kind
	of day you've had,
delightful or just dreary
	like the rain outside.

Given enough time apart
	my tearfalls
will soon match
	any good hard rain.

So, I ask God for mercy
	for me and you
so we'll be allowed
	another visit, just us two.

When that will be
	only He knows
and I can't wait
	till Time slows.

For when we're together
	in rain or sunshine
no matter the weather,
I'll be yours and you'll be mine.

Let the waters pour down
in each others arms is where
true love can be found
and only tears of happiness fall there.

Judith

the rain of that night,
the plans of that day...
her beauty stop the rain as it rains
me wet.

not seeing her could have been...
but the strength of love
true love betides the
storm of thunder rains.

so i went in a rain
that her beauty stopped
and wet i arrived.

My Sunshine

all i need is her next to me;
wen the rain falls from my eyes,
she wraps me up in sunshine.

never close blinds;
until we close are eyes.
she knows the rain will never dry;
if u always look behind,
and the roses never grow;
if the sun never shows.

so she shines her love on me;
so the roses in my soul;
can grow as tall as the trees,
and be as smooth as the wind breeze.

Oooooo!how she shines on me.
the brightest thing the day has ever seen.
my sunshine.

OUR MIDNIGHT PLACE
As certain as the rains do fall in spring,
will be my love, for you to have and hold,
and know you now--my rain of love will bring
to you, all joy of which all love is told.

No one could ever count the drops that fall,
and so is put together, love for you,
numbers cannot be given them at all,
though put together, one is what will do.

And every single drop adds beauty there
to something we can call a rainy day,
to fill with love, made up, from everywhere,
the drops of life that make love what we say.

Our midnight place, your front porch, dreaming of
each drop of rain that's filled with so much love.
