Best Lost Lovefire Poems
A love so meaningful,
Protected by a wall of flames
Held captive inside my aching
heart
My body burning from its heat
Almost unbearable
Yet unstoppable
Relentless
And timeless
Never ending
But now
The fiery barrier
Between love and lasting
Burns no more
Ashes
Dust
Turned to ice
Frozen
An iceberg
In an ocean of torment
Frustration
And I,
I am its fish
Thrown to the shore
Struggling for breath
Drowning in airsuffocating
Left to perish
praying for the strength to go on
But then the fire returns
Not a powerful shield
Nor protection from the cruel
seas
This is a weapon
A fire filled with destruction
A raging storm
Unstoppable
Unimaginable
Relentless
A bolt of lightening strikes the
fish
And all is lost
Some flames can never be extinguished.
The sparks you saw behind my eyes,
They leapt up from my heart,
From a consuming inferno burning forever.
But once the fire sears the nerves the pain will cease.
Would that I could catch any sparks that fly your way,
Let them smolder in my heart, saving you the pain.
The fire has burned me and smote my nerves,
Pain has left, though the flames still roar.
I can no longer feel.
