Too Real

Bright lights alley fights murdering friends over dubs.
Hefty price nothing nice too many has been.
Gun totting ninjas sewer rat room.
Attitudes bigger than the new york skyline.
Everything based on a timeline.
Petty cash used for hash.
Women bashing, tongue lashing.
Unwritten rules, city life blues.
Lipstick stains, menstrual pains.
If we break these chains our freedom we'll gain.
People claim their real yet are called downtown to cut a deal.
How can you look in the mirror each day knowing your taking someone’s freedom
Away?
Hearts smothered in malice, hands cold as ice.
With knives being thrown around we're sure to end up six feet under ground.

Pathetic Poetry

Always sitting or laying,
Between these concrete walls,
Praying,
That god gives me something today,
Anything,
Just listen when I say,
That I feel so down,
So down it's pathetic,
Trying so hard to
Accept this for what it is,
Poetic,
So many emotions,
Feelings,
Thoughts intruding my head,
Somehow I went,
From feeling so alive,
To feeling so dead,
How can this be,
That I'm used to this,
Why does it feel so good,
To punch these walls with,
Bleeding fists.
I can't even cry now,
It's been so long since,
Looking up into the sun,
Closing my eyes behind this,
Fence,
I see freedom as an object,
Unable to obtain,
Marking down the days,
With the pencil,
I use to express my pain,
This pathetic poetry of mine,
My only escape from here,
But hope is needed so much,
But it's on thing I've come,
To fear,
Because it's only become,
Something of a let down,
Because freedom is,
Something,
That just never comes around.

Haunted

I stare out my window,
to the freedom beyond.
My throat closes around the words i want to scream.
Mother enters my room, bottle in hand.
I wont face her, shouldnt acknowledge her,
knowing her intentions.
Out of the corner of my eye I see her raise that bottle.
In that brief second before she slams it down into my skull,
I see a snake coiled, ready to strike.
I realize I have my cutting knife.
One, two, I strike.
I miss her and my world goes black.
I knew I couldnt hurt her, shes my mother.
In unconciousness Im sitting in a meadow.
Watching the sunset and the moths fly.
I am in the freedom I yearned for so much.
But now it seems empty.
Of course,
whenever I succeed I feel nothing.
My past...
haunting me...
I shall never be free.
