Rain falls on granite.
Glaciers unwind.
Snowflakes decrystallize.
A murmuring stream collects,
in the confluence of the melt.
A river is born.
Her banks expand.
Nutrients collect in the torrent.
Rocks tumble in the frothy white water.
Speed and power intensify,
with the reshaped swell of common elements.
A river grows.
Transformation is slow and muddy.
Men build obstructions,
harness the river with turbines.
Irrigation canals siphon liquid gold for crops.
Barges navigate goods over current.
A river is tamed.
Sediments build in the depths.
Reflections dominate.
A serene shoreline nurtures abundance.
The hasty flow has noticeably slowed.
Every mile traveled increases breadth of verity.
A river ages.
Some vanish with anonymity in vast deserts.
Others clash violently into endless seas.
A few form rich, braided deltas.
Inland lakes, without drainage, capture some.
Geologists and children are in agreement.
All rivers end………
Things can come, things can go
With a mind that has become so slow,
I cannot keep a thought for long
As I continue to go along.
This river of time I find myself in
Just keeps on going and I can't remember when.
My thoughts stay jumbled and finally lost,
Will I not be able to have a mind on the mend?
Age and memory aren't much fun,
When that river of time keeps going and you have none.
A fading mind is like a day that is ending
All that's left is a thought that needs mending.
.....?? Nuts!!
I stopped by the river...
Gently flowing past,
Such cool water,
Slaked my thirst
I feel the waters pull on my hand
Secret chuckle flowing by
Water, so clear
You can see the river sand
I picked up some river sand
Let it slowly trickle through my hand
Am I grain of sand?
Tumbling in water,
So clear,
Throughout this verdant land
Where is my place?
Where am I meant to be?
Gently flowing past
Part of this river,
Becoming me
Sweet waters,
So clear
In its' depths
I am meant to be
I stopped by the river...
Or did the river stop me?
I may never know,
For in its' depths,
A grain of sand
Is what you see
What I show
Swathes of weeping willow
On the river...
Cast a shadow,
Soft green glow
In water
So clear
A grain of sand,
In the clear waters
Of the river
Becomes me
In this beautiful land
Watching one boat made from thin paper sailing away,
Just felt one insane destiny drew by the river on the time
How long is this journey to the end of the brief wet life ?
Should it be longer than all my life?
The world cares on the shoulders this infinite sky,
And I.....care my moments alive over silver silence.
Ink dropped on the ocean from pure emotional brushes
Flowing in high and low movements through the waves
A moment in a thoughts leaves the body to join this volatile boat
Without captain, anchor, and harbor caring all precious colors,
To the center of the circle life, spinning till vanish in deep waters
Woke up of one dream in the border of a bed and an unfounded river .
Form:
The river slowly
Like a snake's
Movement goes
To the sea
While the sunsets
Golden casting red
On the clouds
Mountains and valley
Our lives go forward
Sometimes fast
Then sometimes
Like a slow river
Disaster sometimes
Seems like that
Slowly moving river
Lessons are learned
When the river
Is full and swift
Everything great
Lessons are aborted
Thank you God
For the slowly
Moving river
The teacher

On hot summer days we would gather
on the river bank.
Racing up the hill
to claim your spot.
Some were anxious in line
others had done it a million times.
Feeling the rope between your hands
as you take your stance.
Holding on tight
you take flight.
With the wind in your face
and echos of friends yelling your name.
You let go of the rope
falling into the river below.
This is how we spent our
summer days.
Tears flowing down the river
the river of love.
Waves breaking up,
my boat of life.
Water over my head,
covering our love we once had,
tears flooding my heart
of days so long ago.
When you and I were
so very young and happy
many things we had together
now drifting so far down this river.
River comes to a bend,
you have went one way,
I another river,
two rivers were on now.
We need to change our course
to get back on this
river of love, so there
will be no tears flowing
down this river anymore.
