See me... When you saw me, what did you see?
When you think of hope, what do you see?
If you consider peace, What do you see?
Stand against the mirror and face the reflection.
Everything you see stares right back at you.
What you did before is the reflection that now haunts you every day.
Your reflection constantly mocks you.
They are your worst enemy.
I see you...I can tell you what I saw.
I thought of hope and saw many smiles.
I considered peace and saw men achieve it.
To face the mirror is to face your thoughts.
An individual has thought which displays their feelings.
The emotion of your heart and intentions of your mind are displayed in the reflection.
See me... See you. The difference in our minds.
The variance of emotion in our hearts.
Everyone is different as an individual is independent of the crowd.
Today’s glance in the mirror
Made me wish I could erase
The image that looked back at me,
Which was my mother’s face.
I do not mean her younger self,
So 1940’s vamp,
But more a senior version
Which bore aging’s glaring stamp.
It’s something we don’t want to see.
I think we often cling
To visions of ourselves so filled
With all that youth can bring.
But years unfold and take a toll
And grant us no protection
From what the mirror offers us –
A reason for reflection.
We can’t quite help who we become.
The years won’t cut us slack;
But when I pass a mirror hence,
I hope myself looks back.

What if your mirror could talk
What do you think it would say?
Would it tell you all the wrong you've done,
Or just let you walk away?
Would it remind you of your promises,
That's now turned into lies?
Would it tell you of your failures,
As you peer into its eyes
Would it tell you who you really are,
As you stare at it's reflection?
If you told it all your secrets,
Would it voice to you objection?
Would it set you on the righteous path,
Back where you belong?
Would it tell you where your life has changed,
At the place where it went wrong?
So what if your mirror could talk
And told you what you've been missin'?
Would we still only see our reflection
And never take the time to listen
