There's a darkness in the tone
of the steps that you take -
Like subtle singularity for fools in your wake,
And wouldn't it be nice to break out?
For instance, I saw a star tonight...
It was mostly flickering and distant -
But a Strange stir was what sent
Potent chills from spine to toes and back:
And deep inside of me, from an
unprecedented Hollow in my soul,
That star called out as a request -
For help or justice, I do not know.
What I can tell you now,
It wouldn't take much longer than those steps
for the elapsed time to force a full collapse,
And wouldn't it be nice to break out?
For instance, I moved a stone tonight,
with nothing but my mind,
The powers were within, around, behind,
And every step I took it drained completely -
And completely drained my spirit
of the necessary evils
Which controlled my every action
And reaction, And Action, And . . .
There's a floating, towering hole;
A glorious glance, at least at first,
and a mighty sweep of hands
Took my feet from underneath me,
And vertigo ensued,
A meaningless
Strange
Hollow
Sense
of the Strangest
and Stranger Yet,
but
what we were.
And wouldn't it be nice to break out?
So many beautiful faces,
In so many far away places,
They are alone and some what free,
Many seem to want to chat with me,
So they get themselves on line,
Hoping what is missing they can find,
Maybe someone close to where they are at,
If for nothing else but just to chat,
Maybe the same interests we can share,
Or just to know a friend is there,
Every day there is a pleasant greeting,
Then talk about some kind of meeting,
This may go on for days or a week,
Even on the phone we may speak,
What some say is perfectly clear,
Others just say what you want to hear,
Now across the table we will sit,
The picture in my mind the other just doesn't fit,
Small talk there will be some,
But the real thought is on how to run,
I am only wishing this date was through,
But what's a nice person would to do,
With my vision now blurred,
By the BS of the printed word,
Now glad that the phone will ring,
Tragedy this call will bring,
The kids are not full grown,
And they are now home alone,
Little Bobby slipped and fell,
How bad he's hurt they just can't tell,
It was nice to meet you don't you know,
But I really have to go,
The picture is no longer blurry,
To the car I simply hurry,
Thank God for that cell phone,
Maybe I am better off alone!

Would you like to come inside

Would you like to come inside
And get out of the cold for awhile
Because we could really enjoy
having a nice conversation together
So that we can get to know
each other a little bit better
While we are sitting on the
couch next to a nice warm fire
And sipping on a warm
cup of cappuccino while
we enjoy listening to some
beautiful music together
Because I couldn’t think
of anything better
to do on a day like today
Then spending it with you
especially when the
weather is so dreary outside
