A night of miracles, of splendor, of grace,
A night of wonder for all to trace.
A night of promise of hope, of glory,
A night of holiness, redemptions story.
A night to believe, to accept, to embrace.
A night to grasp the depth of His grace.
A night to reach for something brand new,
A night to hold to all He can do.
A night for sharing, for giving, for gracing.
A night for slowing a life that is racing.
A night for reflecting on purpose and choice,
A night for rehearing His still small voice.
A night of miracles, of splendor, of grace
A night to believe, to accept, to embrace
A night for sharing, for giving, for gracing.
This night is eternal is rich, is amazing.
This night is eternal, is rich, is amazing
This night is smiling for what is arising.
This night is conquering the slaves are free!
This night is Christmas, when God came for me.
The pumpkin's almost done, each pip sticking to the edges, not wanting to be parted from its mother.
The fresh, chilly new winters gale collided into her by the ajar window and she shivered.
She could see the orange moon glide vividly across the bed of lilac clouds; night was yet to come.
A single candle was placed inside the Jack-o-lantern and she lit it for fun.
Imagining a bunch of dancing witches sing amongst the undisturbed flames.
She smiled knowingly at such glee a cackle they make.
The distant sun shone from a crack in the blues and violets of the skyline.
Triangle eyes of the pumpkin rejoiced silently at her and her minds eye was triumphant.
Its jagged teeth, some square, some not poked out from a smirking grin.
Then she climbed the wooden stairs and got whisked away in a night of amazing simile and superstition.
Her wardrobe threw clothes at her and each garment was her friend.
Racing to the front room again, she looked to her orange companion; casting a purple shadow.
Her cloak trailed excitedly after her body and the black boots clipped on the thin rug beneath her fish-netted feet.
Halloween was here again and what a rush of anxiety it brings to her soul.
She and her pumpkin made readiness in dancing about the egg soaked roads, to become engrossed in a number of friends and stink-bombs.

For Linda Marie The sweetheart of P.S "Holiday Hearth" Poetry Contest
The equinox is days away,
the only day that's equal,
both night and day-
get a say.
It's social anarchism-
on a universal scale.
perpetuated by a mysterious veil,
that society ignores completely.
- I found it comical when I thought about how the universe has two days dedicated to
appeasing both day and night and equalizing the seasons, when most humans can't stop
squabbling over money for an hour.
Here's praying for humanity's equinox....whenever that may happen or if...
The barrier thinning,
...the spirit realm divulged-
the grim is ever lurking,
the appetite indulged.
The sky is ever darkening,
blood red shapes seen floating through the air,
not a time to be wandering,
saunter if you dare.
Fallen leaves turn red with fear,
creeks freeze over,
the mammals hide,
the birds fly south,
...and summer dies.
The rift now opens,
...they come to play,
to say hello,
(this way?)
...the narrator runs away.
Hiding in a sand bed near a lee
the frost,
it clutches, at the knee-
fear takes hold-
...and those that are bold,
continue to enjoy the night life.
"Hey buddy you ok?"
...The narrator runs away.
"that's impolite, I just said hi.
we just wanted to come and play.
Why does everyone run away?"
The dark shape turns to face the audience,
face invisible in the black, it raises it's arm-
...and makes a pose.
"It's getting late, good night folks."
It is All Hallows Eve
The night of all souls
Samhain Day
When the wiccans wail
At the witching hour
When the Demons walk
Souls will be taken
In the black of night
One starry night lit up the skies
lighting the way for three wonderers
traveling where the snowy path lies.
Whistling winds howled fear to all.
Proudly a deer stood watching about
studying the travelers crying call.
Nowhere to go but forward
was the only answer for the trio.
Home appealed like a reward.
Far off one saw flashing rays
flickering in the night heavens
something not seen by day.
Oh holy night was calling a song
of peace on earth to all about
the wonderers gazed far and long.
A church stood in the faraway
with skylights shining ever bright
Carolers chanted in words of pray.
The echo of the music traveled away
one by one the trio joined the carol
singing Silent Night in a calm way.
When the hymn came to a pause,
all stood still in warmth of ecstasy
It is time for Christmas and Clause.
May the joy of the holiday night
bring happiness to all this season
and let all your wishes be right?
Horrible goblins and ghouls abound
All of them making a shrieking sound
Living dead are out tonight
Leading humans to quake with fright
Onward they creep these hounds of hell
Wily demons in darkness dwell
Ever gaining on human prey
Each one stalking till light of day
Needing human flesh to feed
Now they move with ghastly speed
Into the night they crawl and hiss
Growing close to that dark abyss
Humans watch your step indeed
Tonight's the night you must take heed
Make not a wish on this night of lore, for powers roam and spirits soar,
Monsters sleeping under your bed, waiting for you to show your head
Keep a candle burning on your window sill and hope and pray that the wind is still
For on this night , “All Hallow’s Eve”
All things scary will now be seen!!
There's something in the midnight mist
That comes this halloween
It happens every thirteen years
And hardly ever seen
A myth to some that don't believe
Until their children scream
While they sleep the mist will come
And haunt them while they dream
Where it comes from, no one knows
Perhaps, from dark and lonely places
The nightmare's real, it's plain to see
Upon their children's faces
They wake this night in utter terror
Unable to walk or speak
Paralyzed, they cannot move
No comfort can they seek
It's said the mist predicts their fate
In events that's yet to come
They cannot stop this night of dreams
Until they all succumb
This mist will come this halloween
And every thirteen years
It lasts until the sun comes up
Then simply disappears
