Which nation of the world
Do I belong?
I belong to the nation
Of unity,
No transgression,
And freedom for all.
I belong to the nation
Of Equalities-
Equality between
Proletariat and aristocracy
Disabled and abled
Woman and man
Young and old
Black and colored
People and nation
Right and rule...
I belong to the nation of peace
Across the land, the sea and the sky.
And peaceful stretch to the arboreal.
And Peace of souls,
Of bodies
And minds.
My belonging
Is my strength-
The rhythm that keeps me growing.
Though I was born a Nigerian.
Not I neglects being call
American, Ghanaian, Portuguese
Chinese, Korean, Indian...
Though I'm by virtue
Of land mass
An African
Not do I dismiss
In unison unit
That type me Asian,
North American,
South American,
European,
Australian
And Antarctica.
I belong to
A nation,
A voice...
One country,
One world.

In youthful exuberance I become a culture bandit
Well exposed, but never really learning.
Modernity taking a toll as Papa and Ante chased the goods
For my sake they said... No mistakes... deed was good
Nanny TV with her bright inviting light
My imagination on wide escapades around the world
And farther altering my personality by giving me languages, dress codes, and even an accent.
So I stole, other cultures infused, fitting in everywhere or so I thought.
And Yet
In all my juvenile delinquency I could never, tell an adult to his face you are wrong
Revering old age; what is that, where is that from?
In my Success in Corporate with policy of first names and no regard for age but ability and brain
I could never bring myself to say Pat.
Aunty Pat can you please email the document to me
Wait, what? Am I not her boss.
So I stole…. Other cultures infused, fitting in everywhere, Or so I thought.
Drawn to the immaculate white of that gown
Instinctively I top it off with a colorful Kente Scarf?
The height I can rock in these 6 inch heels
but how Royal the Ahenema slippers makes me feel
This perfect perfect pony will do well with…. no not pearls or sapphire;
Animal bone necklace and earrings
Oh how perfect my manicure will be accessorized with these….no not diamonds
Bamboo bangles
I will wear the jeans, But only with that tank top with Adinkra symbols
So I stole… other cultures infused, fitting in everywhere… or so I thought.
My true culture grasping at my core
As I gasped, when that little boy called his father’s friend Larry
When He picked the carrot stick with his left hand from the bowl serving the community I died
Though it didn’t make sense because as a right handed person I would say my left hand is as clean as dried
I smiled brightly when that couple spoke Twi, while we waited for the A- train on the subway
My Culturally biased heart coveting a conversation
So I stole, Other cultures infused, fitting in everywhere
A cultural bandit … infused with other cultures… blending in well, or so I thought.
Without need of Affirmation, I have Ghanaian blood flowing through my veins
I know the voice of my people, the beautiful colour
Of the soul that makes a Ghanaian.
In the mother land or not. Ghana comes with us.
From generation to generation Ghana is us
Perfect Culture Chameleons
We fit right in
Ghana is our heritage.

When someone is told to go back in his country
in peace, it is very wise to go early
to avoid public shame.
When the Ultimatum of French ambassador
of 48 hours to leave Niger's territory passed,
Some nigerien officials cut water and power
at French embassy in Niamey so that the ambassador could go to france.
(Ambassador Sylvain Itte had been ordered
to go amid rapidly deteriorating bilateral ties.)
French government and EU continue encouraging him
to stay in Niger thinking to reverse the coup d'état
as there are many sanctions which affect innocent
people" women , children"
French government supporting the ex-rebels
of northern Niger to start violences as Ecowas troupes delay to take final decision to fight Niger for their interests.
France and EU are not for the good of people of Niger
but their mineral resources.
Ecowas and AU sanctions affecting innocent people
and increasing their strength to continue
standing for their rights as they can't lose
this opportunity to cut ties with France
for their true freedom.
When NATO demonised Muhammad Khadafi to be hated by his people to achieve their goals
which were to collect more natural resources
and plant instability in Libya.
Some libyans thought that NATO was to help them
Nevertheless they are crying till today.
Ghanaian military refused to destroy the victory
of people of Niger and they won't be part of military
who want to kill innocent nigeriens
for the benefits of some westerners
who ill-treating even them.
In life , supporting some oppressors
to hit some victims like you,
the payment will be your own cries.

On the coast of gold(Ghana) where ethnic cultures intertwines like glittering and colourful 'bonwire' kente
A vibrant tapestry of diversity divine.
Starting from the South where the powerful Ashanti real heritage
Tracing to the Fante coastal tales of the sea
Across the Nzema fishing net cast upon the tides
To the Ewe's rhythmic abadza
And the atumpan of the Ashanti's that echoes
And rejoices to the dance adowa beating the soil.
Oh Ghana's culture, beacon of our pride
A tool for democratic thrive
The history and festivals like aboakyir, Samba and Kundum
stirs our spirit as the gleaming star of the east forces the earth to revolve around it
Ghanaian culture beauty blooms as democracy prevails within us
For Warrior King's culture, a tool we wield to build a generation graced with autonomy indeed.
The Black Volta spreads walks majestically as autonomy and democracy spreads it's wings
The symphony of highlife and Sankofa the mythical bird of the acient trumpet proverbs of those days
For it is not just the taste of our abunuabunu or the gold that adorn our neck that makes us take our stance
But Remember diversity of our culture
Warrior King's in diversity
In defence shall we fight and perish to bring the eagle full of might
Our culture unite
Our culture our voice
Our culture transforms and clear every blurrish sight
Let us all come together and celebrate Ghanaian culture the Genesis and revelation of democracy.
Thank you

Xenophobia
We are not seeing the Africa inspired by Mandiba.
We are not seeing the Africa inspired by our
Ancient Kings of rusted spear and shield.
This is not Africa!
This is African inspired after colonization,
The one set at the period of imperialism.
The Berlin conference of 1884-85.
The oppressors have been winning a long time now
Comes the south Africa against all Africa
Shame should slam the face of south African
Who are perpetrating the brutal and barbaric act.
In Bloemfontein sudden death of our brothers we see
The Nigeria, Somalian, Ghanaian, Tanzanian
Contribute the rescue of there black brothers
When they suffer under apartheid
We are the most divided and dysfunction race on the planet
The whitish have called the black land there home
Our fellow black man is been oppress and sabotage
Our black woman and her infant child have turn to runaway slave
Chasing her with all metallurgy
We allow the line of boarders to separate us.

Oh great. It is time to build a snowman in a fire place. Just ensure even placement and it is imperative to use the fire guard. Shrink sinking surrounding shaping shifting sailing sip. A shapeless garment on a large frame is jumping over road works now. Wow. A flying flurry of conquering onion and garlic pie with the scent of one star anise. And a bay leaf. Air no charging herd of bank notes to a horizontal horizon for horizontal happens here having horses, hounds and hippopotamus heals in a radius of two point eight circular twilight buds. Now move. Form a queue of nouns and get served by an asterisk shaped female. Whose antics in the pie aisle is packed with generically green grand groups and one smiling pea has now returned from a world cruise. Hahaha tinkling travelling trademarks trampling trampolining tyrannosauruses'. Hahaha collection of forks linking hands with the spoons then go sledging on a six wheeled bike. Ghanaian going out for dinner. Xxxxx multidisciplinary z that was the p Y Q reporting from a swirl of zones on a fifty acre cake. Z. Unilingual z and a diagram of a dish clapping. Z

I wake up for this country again?
Well it's not my fault, maybe it's God who deserves the blame.
Out of a 100 people in my country, 89 people dema prayers be the same.
"God Abeg make I lef this country inside."
Take my mom for example, before I even was old enough to start talking, she planted the idea of "oh meba wei dierr )ntena Ghana nky3" in my head.
The irony of it all is that, the country we all are eager to leave is a refuge for many. Here is the only place they find tranquility.
My paddy for village sef say ein prayer no plenty like that so he no know why God no answer am still, he just wants to come and live in Accra.
No matter what, he has to live here someway somehow.
But like Oliver Twist, nothing ever be enough give man.
My mother always told me that was the same prayer she had when she was staying in the village too.
But now mama doesn't want to just visit this aburokyire, she dey want stay there.
She dey want make we move the whole family to that side.
The quest of leaving the country to some has become fanaticism.
Some people are willing to do anything for this
"aburokyire".
If you take time to scrutinize some of these people's minds, you'd realize they don't even know what they're going to do there when they get there.
The idea of whether the reason behind people leaving is because the country is difficult to live in or they just want to leave is still moot.
Some people left and they're back here in the country because of the adversities they faced when they were out there.
But the Ghanaian man is not ready to listen, give him a plane ticket, and you'll get to watch him in next level euphoria.
"Me too ago like go there go suffer then come back, if ebe so edey", be some of the people dema response to the people who left and are back here with stories.
Keeping it a Virgil, I myself would not miss a chance to go to the aburokyire if I ever get the
chance.
Leave us and let's go and experience our own epiphanies.

Upriver - a place where she goes to fetch water and firewood
Hair is neatly decorated with a collection of cowries and coins
Stretch marks that cover the entirety of
her growing belly
Beautiful eyes - eyes that possess a power to kill a man at passion's spot
Beautiful beaded accessories surrounding her charming waist
African who was born with Africa lying comfortably in her womb
Some societies term her 'black and dark as in every picture'
But she wears her culture joyfully every day and night
And aside from her captivating look, skin is purely gold
Downriver - a place where she sits, entertains, and explains stories
Her cultural heritage is a key - a key to understanding her roots
She welcomes a stranger with a cola nut and a bottle of palm wine
She is an African
Not because she was birthed on the
fertile soil of Africa
But because Africa spent nine unbroken solid months in her womb
Grace - a Liberian queen
Adanna - a Nigerian model
Nadia - a Ghanaian royal and
Samuella - a Sierra Leonean seer
They Are Africans.

Clerihew
I told her I'm a stranger
A souvenir
She thought I am from Ghana
Because I'm black like Ghanaians
She concurred
While listening to my accent
She confirmed I'm a Nigerian.
She said she can't
Wait to have me
Saying I'm one of a kind
I'm always on her mind
She called me the law of attraction
Because like a magnet she's always attracted to me.
She called me
A heart robber
Because I stole her
Heart away
With the way I do my things
She said I'm differ from others
Because I never pretend to be another.
