Take Your Time

I don't always know how to tell you whats on my mind
I'm slowly sayin' goodbye to the life I'm leaving behind
In my heart I know for sure that its time to let it all go
 But baby be patient
We need to take it nice and slow
I carry no sorrows and kee[ no secrets
But baby I'm not ready to move too far ahead just yet
Take a deep breath and actually hear what I'm tryin' to say
If you just take your time I'll let you lead the way
I've got to do this in my own time
 Im not ready to shine
Its still my time to live and learn
And only then can I carry the name I'll earn

A Woman With a Purpose

A baby did she see as she went into labor
A child did she foresee as she bore her baby in her arms
A troublesome teenager did she predict as she nurtured her child
A well mannered adult did she package as she groomed her teenager
A responsible leader has she made her baby single handedly
She is mother a woman with a purpose.

One Other Father

I missed him from the time I walked away
to have the baby
hard to leave but the baby
had to be born
one other father
From that time I was hollow
no love
no baby inside
and I walked with an empty heart
for many years
grieved every night
and then again just before my eyes opened
sitting in the rocker deep into the night
staring
rocking
waiting
one baby
another baby
and a miracle.
