One Other Father

I missed him from the time I walked away
to have the baby
hard to leave but the baby
had to be born
one other father
From that time I was hollow
no love
no baby inside
and I walked with an empty heart
for many years
grieved every night
and then again just before my eyes opened
sitting in the rocker deep into the night
staring
rocking
waiting
one baby
another baby
and a miracle.

Wow, Veronica! Your writing conveys your love for the miracle child. The father doesn't know what he is missing. LOVE THIS! Carolyn
