Best Cpr Poems
While he was jogging, he suddenly dropped.
I knew immediately that his heart had stopped.
If I had known CPR, his life might have been saved.
But I didn't and sadly, it sent him to his grave.
I learned how to play the piano and how to drive a car.
But it would've been more beneficial if I'd learned CPR.
He perished because he went into cardiac arrest.
I was helpless to save him and my heart shriveled in my chest.
Now I'm hated and have been disowned by my own father and mother.
The reason why they hate me is because the dead man was my brother.
(Even though this poem is fictional, it's very important that people learn Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.)

My heart skips a beat
Whenever a door slams
My heart skips a beat
Whenever I hear footsteps
Days and nights tensely lived
Not knowing what to think
Locks on doors, windows shut
Living a life in a cringe and a shrink
Shrink from most shadows
Images of the unknown
Freezing, still, in my sleep
Waiting for what will be shown
My heart skips a beat
With an impression on my bed
Sleep disturbed, fear increased
Not knowing the thoughts that spin through my head
I live alone, so no one is there
But my mind won’t let me rest
Tightly wound, hands clinched tight
Every day, every day, spent in fright
My heart skips a beat
Whenever I’m at church
I hear the words of Jesus Christ
There’s no fear, or any dread
My heart skips a beat
Because I feel my life is changing
Yes, I still cringe at night
Yet it doesn’t always feel the same
My heart skips a beat
I’ve learned the Father is near
As long as I have Him in my life
I know there is nothing to fear
Cringes lessen, tightness fades
I let the Lord shine His light
Sounds not heard, shadows no more
Jesus is the one to get me through the night
My heart skips a beat
I have been saved
Comforter, Protector, Redeemer

CPR
Not again call the code
Again in life saving mode
Grab the patient from the dark abode
This is a burden and heavy load
My heart is hard and callous
Working for years in the medicine palace
No criticizing you’ve your own malice
You’re not ready to drink from my chalice
Get on the chest, push hard and fast
How much longer will this last
Push the epi again they’ve not passed
Someone do compressions I’m gassed
You feel a pulse? NO! begin CPR
Eyelids open, pupils dilated, bizarre!
Cracked ribs, circulate the drugs intravascular
Hang another liter to the 18g catheter
This isn’t good the lips are blue
Running the code we aren’t through
Good bag mask ventilation through the tube
The bowel evacuates diarrhea, pew.
Still no pulse felt at all
Continue CPR in for a long haul
Did we update family give them a call
They’re in for a huge curve ball
We got a rhythm that is shockable
Charging 360J, stand clear, loud and audible
Hope this works anything is possible
Feel a pulse? YES! Phenomenal
Post-resuscitative effort in full effect
Titrate the Dopa and Levo for affect
Secure the ETT make it perfect
Debrief the H’s and T’s lets inspect
Order chest x-ray and head CT
Get an ABG, H&H and blood chemistry
Start hypothermia and begin the freeze
Lets clean up the patient provide dignity
Another patient kept out of the grave
The team members supported and gave
Staving off death and being brave
That’s what we do, for the patients we save

She drowned in the late eighteen hundreds
Alone but happy because her horrible life was finally over
She had been chattel at the hand of a ruffian.
A rogue her parents married her to.
She was glad to be gone.
It was not a good life
"Hey! Isn't that your face?" It was her friend, Angel Mama.
She looked back to earth in the viewing room.
It was her face, on a dummy of some sort.
She was shocked! "It was my earth face," she said.
They call you "Anne," Angel Mama said.
Her full earth name had been AnneMarie.
But her beloved Grandma Belle had always called her Anne.
She smiled. "What do they do with it?" She asked, frightened a bit.
"She saves lives," another voice said.
"She teaches people CPR, a way of saving people who are
drowning or choking."
What? Anne was shocked. Happy that her earth face was happy.
It was the first time she thought she almost saw it smile.
That face had not smiled in a long time.
The dummy looked so proud of itself!

Prose Poetry
Swimming
I’m drowning
In what makes
Me human
Bobbing up
And down
Under blankets
Of old feelings
Trying to breath
In new ones
But my lungs
Fill with past
Regrets
Words to old
To remember
So I just swallow
The water willingly

We're all "breathing to death"
With decaying hearts,
Daily losing our breath
Quick!
Fifteen verses,
Two songs of worship
Fifteen verses,
Two songs of worship
Change it up!
Thirty verses,
And a song of worship
Keep it up!

Samantha my cat is a little bit stressed,
with strangers coming in and out of our nest..
She likes my wheelchair, her new spot to rest,
it's soft cushy pillow she finds the best..
When I'm asleep she does a respiration test,
checking in to make sure I'm not dead I guess?
Hopefully she would do cat cpr to my chest..

Light Verse
she sleeps
while i watch
owl like through
the night
that what

never
happen
for she i

for her
to breathe
into me

without
her i am
a shell a
vessel
for her
lips to
put
upon
and blow
then the
sound of
