Best Childhoodfriend Poems
Head full of dreams, not a single one shattered.
She had me, and that’s all that mattered.
Sure the hardships came and passed.
Just little things, they never amassed.
?
Slowly the hardships got harder and harder.
Soon, I had to think smarter and smarter.
Suddenly there was nothing I could do.
I couldn’t help, she needed someone new.
Perhaps someone more like her.
I began to wonder if there were.
She grew farther and farther away.
There is barely anything left of her here today.
Don’t go old friend, don’t leave me behind.
It’s not our world anymore, there's more than just you and me
But there wasn’t when we carved our names into that tree.
They bought him at the pet store just for me.
The most beautiful bird of color for all to see.
He mocked everything I said and everything I did.
Krackers was my friend from when I was a kid.
He was always there even when I was alone.
He talked to my friends even answered the phone.
As I done my chores he rode on my shoulder.
As the years passed he got much older.
I seen a rainbow of colors as he flew through the air.
Krackers my friend for me he was always there.
A blue one here and a pink one there.
Feathers,feathers every where.
When I lost Krackers my tears began to fall.
I'll always remember things he did big or small.

I remember you
You who walked by my side
Through my giggles and sprints
The chaos of small feet
Yet you always stayed
I remember you
You who told me off when needed
A care my small mind didn't comprehend
Your heart did wonders within my own
I remember you
The white in a sea of shadows
Shadows that whispered little pains
All to show me the fool they thought me to be
I remember you
A child just like I was
But your presence, large
A guardian and a friend
Though time has made otherwise
Our journeys no longer in the same room
The echo of little heartbeats unheard of
It stayed with me, engraved,
Your sunlight, the jar of stars and the smile
Always and forever
Thank you
