My Mental Rapsody

As I roast
on the coals
of my inferno,
my mind spirals inward.
Loneliness
sits down with me
and rambles in silence,
teasing my eardrums
with deafening tones
of misery and solitude.

Scratches form
       upon my eyes,
blinding the feelings
        in my heart.
Shifting ideas
gallop across
    the wasteland
of my domain,
releasing
        lost memories
from their graves.
There they go 
skittering in the mist,
coiling through
the wrought-iron gate,
licking the platelets
from the spasmatic formation
          that guards me.
And as 
    the mental axises split
I release Rage
from my service,
but he stays on
       voluntarily,
frolicking in the chaos
and dancing
on the casualties
of my synaptic wars.

So I go back to my throne
          alone,
waiting for the invalid
to knock on my gates
with my next notion.
