Walkers gather throughout the year
In Keswick, Ambleside and Grasmere
They come to walk the fells
No matter the weather wet or clear
They travel from near and far
To follow the maps of Mr Wainwright
Who walked these same fells in the past
And left a memorial to follow aright
They are many to choose from
Helvelyn, Helm Crag, Catbells and Skiddaw
That’s just a few from the many
You have all kinds in which to draw
Be prepared for all eventualities
Good boots waterproofs ect. are a must
So are water to drink and food to eat
Then looking upwards in prayerful trust
They also are captured on film
Featuring Julia Bradbury on DVD
To follow the steps of dear AW
Giving hope and inspiration for you and me

It’s a day in April
having a sail on Lake Windermere
lovely views all around
feeling at peace and no fear
The trees and the hills
Look so very green
Reminding me it is spring
With all it’s splendour so clean
Leaving now in the afternoon
to sail back to Ambleside
the sun is out, thankfully
feeling it’s warmth like a newly wed bride
Such a relaxing day
such a joy to behold
such a pleasurable time
a moment forever told

Loughrigg and Wansfell, Fairfield and Red scree,
The most charming of villages lie beneath thee,
It's beauty is bountyfull, many books have been wrote,
I see a different side, I see the folk,
When you visit this place you may think heavens sent,
A friendlier place, I could not invent,
The colors the views are what you come to see,
It's the people who live here that do it for me.
The loyalty, the faith, the comrades in arms,
These are the locals, the shops and the farms,
A community spirit amazing to see,
All known by first names, how we'd all like to be.
If there's trouble in town they will go to some length,
And they all pull together, a show of great strength,
Come as a couple or come on your own,
Nothing but grace will you ever be shown,
My ambleside, I can't shout it to loud,
A village A home, of which I am so proud,
This is the place i shall die with great glee,
this is a village you must come and see.
