THE FEW THAT FIGHT

Just the wish of a winsome child for love
and peace in the world,
a sentiment shared deep in the heart of
every boy and girl.
No one escapes the reality of a cruel and
unjust world.
Many a child's innocent smiles get willfully
unfurled.

There are those few that wouldn't comply,
rose above, or never knew.
They fight to the death, beating their chest,
standing for the few.
They altercate the status quo, injustice,
and cruelty too.
For the gullible, incapable and those with
out a clue.

Healing Love

We're worlds apart
It seems to me
Unknown before
So blissfully
Unaware
That friendship
Stalked
This earthly plane
Until we talked
Once
And then again,
Again, again
We chitter-chattered
Just present
Spirits
Catching up lost
Time
Was all that mattered
Maybe mixed in
With much time
Passing
Some healing-love
Perhaps amassing
Not quite
Romantic
A different kind..
The sort that souls
Do rarely find
But when that
Rare
And precious heart
Beats in time
With words that
Rhyme
Right from the start
On this one view
We altercate
You say it's
Luck
I call it
Fate
