Petty puny men able to overwhelm
the world, but you cannot fly. Oh you try,
and you inhance your body with a realm
of steel, but you cannot fly. You will sigh
with pleasure as you body surf a wave.
Think of that in the sky, from thermal
to thermal, following the lines god gave
the magnet earth, turning as one with all
your flock and dancing in the air, reasons
only a stoned surfer could comprehend.
Our race was once earthbound in all seasons
like you, but determined to understand
the world. Our ascent to the sky took eons.
Your vision, the present, not your scions.

Confessional Truth

Confessional Truth
Starting with guilty admission
A body laying there innocent, unprotected
Morality conspires
To seek its agenda
Blackmail and blueprint the truth
In description and doubt
With promises for the future

Armed with truth
The body becomes an example
An illustration
Knotted in its slavery
Personal in its shame
Covering layer upon layer of promises
Not to offend
To put dirty things aside

To embrace law
With its solemn guarantee
Its Christian pronunciation
To hide beneath the scourge of truth
Using a shimmering shield to combat
Enemies of mind
Enemies of sticky, listless thought
And all uncertain courses down the river
To embark on the great damming project
To this point you will go
And no further

Boxing At the Garden

Shes the fancy fighter;
Who won't get it through her head;
That in that world that she lives in
There's only quick or dead.

 He bobs and weaves and steps back
And he'll play the rope a dope;
He bangs the body mercilessly;
Then watches as she chocks

She'll cry out don't you love me;
He says of course I do;
But you're the one who always starts;
So lets do this till it's through.

She comes out in the third;
 Dancing to the beat;
He sticks and moves and clinches her;
So he can feel her body heat.

He makes her throw her hands up;
Then hooks right to the heart;
Then slips and slides around the room;
Like a painter making art.

They'll never be a winner;
And they know they'll fight again;
Getting even is the game;
 but no one ever wins.

The user, the abuser;
going head to head;
Both of them will know regret;
When all they knew is dead.
