Confessional Truth
Confessional Truth
Starting with guilty admission
A body laying there innocent, unprotected
Morality conspires
To seek its agenda
Blackmail and blueprint the truth
In description and doubt
With promises for the future
Armed with truth
The body becomes an example
An illustration
Knotted in its slavery
Personal in its shame
Covering layer upon layer of promises
Not to offend
To put dirty things aside
To embrace law
With its solemn guarantee
Its Christian pronunciation
To hide beneath the scourge of truth
Using a shimmering shield to combat
Enemies of mind
Enemies of sticky, listless thought
And all uncertain courses down the river
To embark on the great damming project
To this point you will go
And no further
