Zzzquil

The bottle of Zzzquil is empty
but tell me where did it go?
spacing out in the corner
trying to figure out who would know

The bottle of Zzzquil is empty
yet there's a dim light still on
laying in my room
hoping for at least a yawn

The bottle of Zzzquil is empty
yet the ticker goes quicker and quicker
Not to sleep, not now nor for a while
It's a curse I've had
since I was a child

But could it really be?
Have I really drank it all?
Drowsiness has eluded me
though I do feel quite stoned
staring at the ceiling
where cracks begin to form

This ritual is most common
it happens every few days
when I come home from work
in my bed I'll stay
awaiting my dreams
in the quiet dark haze
