ZOMBIE LAND
Before my open, prying eyes
Is desolation in disguise.
But still, I find with no surprise
The living dead beyond demise.
Zombies out of mortuary
Between me and sanctuary.
I do what is necessary
To avoid my cemetery.
Damnation in my damn nation.
Cause unknown - no explanation.
Survival - preoccupation
Regarding this, abomination.
Surrender? I will not allow
Myself arrival to its bow.
Scenarios until right now...
Staying alive - some way, somehow.
At first, I thought I was alone...
The world was mine to call my own.
Omega - such of flesh and bone
Against live corpses of dead zone.
Eventually, more paths I crossed...
Other wanderers - lone and tossed
Amidst this population lost...
Survivors fellow and embossed.
Some of us would co-operate...
Surviving congregations great.
Others would not anticipate
Collaboration - meeting fate.
Absent from these ego giants...
Parallel viewpoints, compliance.
We could have formed an alliance...
Science, if not for defiance.
Resolution - its solution...
Executed execution.
Certain in its retribution...
Curtains - violent absolution.
Now, I am the last one standing...
Zombies craving flesh - demanding.
I emerge - hellbent on landing...
Weapons ready to give branding.
