Zen mode

we reach heaven’s door and then pause
not because we have any flaws
but since souls have fallen behind
and so ascension is declined
yet within the matrix of time
no peaks in this dream left to climb
breath by breath reborn we sail on
with each heartbeat ushering dawn
recognising we’re all entwined
playing our life role as assigned
where some souls continue to sleep
and but a handful take the leap
