Zebra

Running across the plains as lions give chase The zebra stands out, its stripes won't erase Surviving is key, it's a daily fight It's all laid out in black and white The zebra comes to a river, now it must cross But in this river crocodiles are boss It hesitates before plunging in, Barely escaping the jaws of death, but that's a win The zebra survives yet another day In the battle between predator and prey ----------

I am glad it escaped. Sad that this is the way of nature that can be so beautiful but filled with so much danger. Someday the lion will lay down with the lamb and a child can play safely at the adder's door. Congratulations on your winning this one. Way to go.

Great write, and congratulations on your win in Constance’s contest. I watch videos of these animals and their prey and it does disturb me, but that is how they survive. Thank you for my placement in your contest. Many blessings to you, my friend.

This battle between predator and prey has been there from time immemorial. The Zebra is hefty, but gentle and falls victim to vile and cunning creatures. In minimum words you have etched the the struggle for survival in a cruel world where might is right ! This goes straight into my FAVE. Congratulations Joseph on your win.

Battle between predator and prey! Ah the rhymes here are so captivating and the wordplay and the metaphorical way you’ve written about zebras made me thinks of so many things and took me in different directions, and thats the power of words. And surviving yes a daily fight. How profound is this write. I absolutely love this. This is a thoughtful and artistic write

Survival of the fittest in the wild. You captured that moment splendidly, Joseph. Life is wild, yet fragile out there. Best to you.

Animals are able to survive, because of their instincts. That's not always the case though, which is sad, indeed. It's a fight for survival, in the animal kingdom. My best to you, Joseph. Hugs, Brandy
