You've Been Framed
I can't afford to quit,
And sure have had enough of it,
So I sit writing these words.
I feel we are turds in a bowl,
Being flushed down a hole,
All because money took control.
Now I roll along tuning my song,
Turning what's gone wrong,
Into something that feels right,
As I shed my light in the world.
Moving toward my graduation,
My infatuation is in the end,
Where I can bend time,
Start again,
Over and over until I win.
The only sin is not believing in you,
The only true thing here,
It's not clear because of fear,
Whispering in you ear,
Telling you where to steer.
It's time to veer off track,
Take your power back,
Lack is just a mentality,
Meant to keep the totality,
Totally unaware of their relation,
To a creation so complex,
We keep cashing their checks.
Buying into personal projects,
As we project what they want to see,
Destroying our right to be free,
Take it from me,
There's more then what you see.
Take a moment to be,
Breathe in eternity,
Release the need to fight greed,
Your attention tightens the lead.
A seed planted deep in your core,
Is driving you to acquire more,
While leaving litter on the floor,
Of the world you came to explore.
I can't take it no more,
You're in store for a surprise,
Now I see with clear eyes,
My disguise has lifted.
We are the gifted,
Now shifting into gear,
Clearing away the clutter,
Muttering words of courage.
Your age doesn't matter,
Battered and bruised,
We are all confused,
By the way we are being abused.
Used to the way things are,
We forgot how far we can go,
Now chasing our shadow,
We look for the glow,
The final blow.
The show must end,
So humanity can mend,
Seeing each other as friends,
I'm sending messages from home.
Roaming the internet,
Is a small freedom I get,
To spread out the alphabet,
Wetting the collective whistle,
With a thistle in the skin.
Now let all that sink in,
I'm thinking about change,
A strange way to relight your flame,
Try to rearrange the game,
Knowing it's the reason I came.
Life will never look the same,
When you take away the frame.
