Youthful Longings

Vast dominions of gold sourced strains
Behold bewitching Rebecca in virginal frame
My idealistic notions in contemplation
Desirously brought to mindful ease
Such erstwhile longings bring conflagration
In rejecting all barriers, I only seek to appease
Pliant be to my entreaty
Unknowingly you invited show
Observe in me my honourable fealty
In supplication I urgently press to know
My marriage proposal sent in seeking
Time encapsulated faithful vow
Unrequited dream foretells on waking
Your note, in receipt, a rejection now.

I merely thought that the ending of this poem was deftly seen between the lines. And although the ending was as I surmised -- a rejection -- it did not bother me because of the expert way it was handled.

Yea! Very good poetry. Love the play on words, and the ending maybe was projected, still, it was certainly written with class.
