Notes About The Poem

06/12/25 poem written  to the tune of 'cant take my eyes off you!

You’re not THAT good, yes it's true

Some use AI yes they do
But won’t admit that it’s true
I’ve seen AI much too much
It’s got that robotic touch
As long as other folk strive
We’ll keep REAL poems alive
It’s just too good to be you
You use AI yes you do

I read each line and I stare
As I am all too aware
It is just computer speak
The content’s very weak
We must keep poetry real
With true emotions we feel
You use AI yes you do
why not admit that it's true!

AI is negative and bad not only in poetry, but it present fake photos, fake videos, and some fake data. Sunshine has said it: the day I use AI to write poem, I will give up poetry writing. Have a nice weekend lovely friend :-) hugs.

thanks Abdullah, it is sad to see the lenghts some poets go to to try and pretend they wrote a poem using Ai and also plagiarising is back on the site yet again. i write my own poems, they may be poopy but I 'produce' every word from my imagination. soup is sliding down the pan it is sad to see:-( hugs Jan xx

They take the easy way out, and AI poems hurt the site. I enjoyed your lyrical take on it Jan

Hey Jan I hear you have moved to the Artic and I must have been moved to the Antarctic and communication is difficult between these two pints. I am trying desperately trying to communicate , not that I am any better, I am the world's worst in catching up with comment. Cross my heart never use AI for my poems or songs with Maria and Ron Williams for music and video I don't think I'll ever get back to normal whatever that is ???? Hqugs Jennifer

Well I don’t and it’s obvious as my southern grammar and spelling is less than proper but not full blown Ebonics! Hahaha! Enjoyed your poem and only AI art is ok. But then artists may disagree!

I see a lot of AI created art to accompany poems but the poets always credit them as such, shame some folk post poems written by bots and then take the plaudits for contest wins. thankfully sponsors are more aware and are checking now. hugs jan xx

Jan, While I sometimes use AI-generated art to go with a poem, even that gives me pause. What it has done brings visual artwork that jazzes up the page. It is like having a commercial artist at our disposal. On the other hand, it will replace graphic artists in all sorts of places, and I feel their pain. As far as poetry itself--there's absolutely no reason to use it. We're interested in what is in someone's heart...not their CPU. Fortunately, we can still tell who is original and who is not, and some of us don't need a computer program to tell us.

I reported 7 more today from one poet, as soon as you see the style and rhyme you know its fake, shame limericks can be created by bots - but when so much more of their work comes out 100% AI it doesnt take Einstein to work out they are cheating. hugs jan xx

I've loved that song forever. Singing your words was fun & no one's home to grimace (Kyle's baby book has a section for "1st sentence'", I had to record, "Mama don't sing." I needed your song & some humor as I'm saturated with the WRONGNESS of AI, my spirit is way, way sad AND my human's upset that an accurate checker must not exist - put 1 of mine in checker today, results: 80% AI, 1 more - 65% AI, 3rd - 70%. I don't know what Soup can do. Feel like I did when I 1st heard about cloning. Oh, mercy .. CayCay

aww "mama dont sing", sure made me smile Caycay. i dont know what the solution is with AI checkers especially for honest poets who write their own stuff and it comes out as partially AI - (checked 3 of mine today - I am human after all lol)but when poem after poem comes out 100% on 3 checkers you know they are cheating - I reported another 7 today by one poet - go through the back catalogue and the poems hit you in the face as being fake! hugs jan xx

A great anthem for the cause Jan...a poem born and put together by a living and breathing entity that feels passionately, believes in honesty and speaks of what it is to be human...all in the form of your lovely self. Wonderful !

Thanks Paul!! I had such fun writing this, once i started the words flowed and fitted in with the tune. Not sure if i will do another verse or two BUT rest assured it is all written by me. I despise the use of AI on the site and folk trying to pull the wool over sponsors eyes. it is making a mockery of those who actually write their own lines. I dont blame folk for leaving when nothing is done to stop it:-( hugs jan xx

I have pretty much given up on most contests now Frederic - what is the point when you are competing with a computer generated poem, even limericks can be written by chat GP and when you see 5 perfect poems posted in a row...and their other rhyming poem show 100% AI it doesnt take Einstein to work out what is going, soup is slowly going down the pan - i will say no more. hugs jan xx
