You'Re Not Here

Lightning spreading across the sky
The storm will not last forever

 You're not here

I promise you will be missed
Please do not say goodbye

You're not here

I couldn't save you
I wonder if anyone cared to try

You're not here

You had so much more of a life to live
Why did you choose to die?

You're not here

I am angry, mostly sad and hurt
I keep asking what more I could have done
as they lowered you into the dirt

You're not here

You should have known you were beautiful
I prayed that you would see

You're not here

People had no right to mistreat you
You were always loved by me

You're not here

I wish I could have healed your pain
I hope my love for you was known

The demons can't chase you anymore
but you left me here alone

I will never fully understand or know
Why you're not here

I miss you my friend.

So sorry for your loss, this is terribly sad. I understand your pain (AND your loathing). I lost my sister, my very best friend, and the pain seemed unbearable at the time but I have learned to cope. I think writing helped me through and I hope it does the same for you :)

Thank you Lenna. I am so sorry you had to feel that pain :( I lost both of my best friends. They were my soul sisters. Writing does help me in so many ways. I was never good at expressing feelings verbally. Poetry is my outlet and I love reading what other poets need to express as well. Blessed be my friend <3

Thank you Chris. I miss her so much and I loathe..severely loathe the people who made her feel so unloved. She passed at the end of January.
