You'Re More

I have so much on my mind, on my racing mind...
So cheers to your heedful ears
I have so much to explain...words, I cannot find
Can't undo the past few years

So...
I remember I used you like a punching bag
I also remember the times we had…
Now, a used rag…a computer known to lag
Times like these make me rather sad

Yes...
Yet, glad they’re over…so, here’s some wisdom
You’ll find out there are new ones yet to come

Hmm...
I do recall when we were so young and bold
Innocence is far better than the prize of gold
I knew you would grow older and successful
Never really knew you turned out so beautiful

And...
Yet, glad you've turned out an endless beauty
You’ll understand and accept all of me possibly

Yeah...
Mistakes have been made in the past we all been through
All is said and done, so forgive and move on from bitter rue
You could only save yourself, honey, but don’t lose confidence
Only you can determine if success is of your finest significance

Okay...
Ultimately, it’s a give or take situation
You are not completely lost in confusion

Well...
Finally, we can seek the love we want in another light
You are in my remembrance for life, making things alright
I dream of your comfort and wish I had some to have my own
I won’t look down at you; instead, I will watch you rise alone

Wait...
But, remember, together, we share wings of flight…
All day and night…you’re more than just a punching bag, alright?

So...
Okay...
You're more than what meets the eyes
You're more than truth behind the lies
You're more valuable than shame's pitiless change
You're priceless...you're more than just strange

You're...
Okay...
Perflection with flaws,
Deserving of applause
Can't say I can measure up to your mighty greatness
Except God and Christ in their glory beyond progress

Yet, you still say:
Yeah, whatever
Just for today
You're a lot better
Can't deny you're fickle like the weather
So, get it together...get it together...

Don't just get out of all control
Or give up your kindhearted soul
Keep your peace and I'll keep mine
Don't worry, you look, well, fine!

I'll mend your scars
I'll fix your wounds
I'll send you stars
Instead of balloons

I'll be your punching bag for now
Beat the air out of me somehow
Funny how you never cease to amaze me
Funny how you and I didn't end up free...
Okay, wow...
What now?
