You'Re Gone
I've watched a thousand sunsets
since you went away.
I've counted each day's dawning,
though tears got in the way.
I've tried so hard to find the strength
to simply carry on.
But, nothing ever seems to help ---
It just can't change the fact you're gone.
The things we did together
won't leave me alone.
And, sometimes, when the memories start
they just go on and on.
And, just when things seem well in hand,
I hear our special song.
But, when the song is ended ---
it just can't change the fact you're gone.
I can't forget those feelings ---
They just keep hanging on.
But, when I write the bottom line ---
It just can't change the fact you're gone.
