You'Re Coming Home

I lied to you, I can tell you now, Because I know you’ll understand. I lied to you where you lay And whilst I held your hand I lied whilst I looked you in the eyes And you put your trust in me I betrayed that trust we so revered Because I knew you’d soon be free.

Hi and thank you for your comment. I wondered if I conveyed this correctly, because it was about someone who actually didn't come home even though I was telling them they were. Is this how you read it? I'd appreciate your view.
