Notes About The Poem

Your Thoughts Are Inches From My Face

You make me run and stumble, flounder and bolt,
Plead with both hands in the air,
And I love you, I hate you, you’re my drug with no choice,
Gazing right through me, you stare.

I’m your boy with a broken halo, broken soul,
Peering up from my knees to your eyes,
And I smile to you, my lover, through this broken mind,
Through deception, through fraud, through lies.

All innocence abandoned, no pick-up lines needed,
You pin my heart to the ground.
And, with thoughts inches from my face, you whisper your love,
You whisper without making a sound.
